I find myself almost hoping for cuts now...

When I first saw the uncut version, some years ago, I was expecting the rape sequence to be on par with Death Wish 2 and I Spit on Your Grave, this was due to it being rejected and then only passed with very heavy cuts by the BBFC. But in the end the sequence was quite mild compared to those 2 films. Clearly though at the time James Ferman was not going to accept a film that was exploiting sexual violence and which also included protracted scenes of a woman being terrorised. Also the scenes showing Linda Blair using a cross bow would have to go anyway.

Fast forward 27 years and I would expect the film to pass uncut now. But there's still no certainty that it will. They objected to brief nudity shots in the I Spit remake, there's nothing to stop them doing the same here. But there's virtually no chance of them cutting the 2 rapes - If you've seen the film you will know why. I would go for it and say it will pass uncut.
