I think the price is about par for the course for an Arrow release. I've just had a look around and The Beyond is £17.99 at HMV, a little less at some online stores and over £20 at others.

So basically you want to tell us that you are afraid, right?

Greetings!

PS: I am also afraid... of werewolves, Dracula, the Frankenstein Monster, Christine Lagarde,...

You could, however, pre-order The Beyond at numerous places for £14.99, and even shortly after release it was available for that sort of price. Noticably, the RRP of The Beyond has risen at a few retailers sites, which leads me to suspect, that this £27.99 is becoming a standard for releases of similar content from Arrow.

When the price of Blu-ray releases seem to be falling all over the place (from RRP, to pre-order prices) it is rather curious to see Arrow bucking the trend. I'm guessing it's related to the rising costs of 'physical' extras and printing (this is the only issue I can see in which Arrow would be incurring higher costs)? I do quite agree with ansaw though, just shy of £18 is also slightly more than I'd wish to pay.

Now come on! Skip one of your impulse purchases and everything's alright.

When editions are of highest quality (like Arrow releases - including a poster worth at least five bucks!), 18 bucks are not too much. Just my two cents (pun intended).

Greetings!

Just to go on the record, I'll happily pay £18 for this but am waiting for the reviews. Any sign of heavy DNR or EE and I ain't touching.

Still obsessed with technical stuff, hm? Well, to each his own.

In all Arrow releases I own (17, to mention the exact number) DNR and EE never were a big issue - it never spoiled the movie. So I am quite hopeful this will be the same with The Funhouse.

Greetings!

Aye, you could say that. If you're not bothered about how good the picture quality is, why not stick with VHS or DVD? Bluray is a total waste of money if you're not bothered about how good it looks.

Its been out for a few years now so the old 'its sharper than the DVD I suppose' release doesnt cut it anymore when some releases (Living dead at manchester morgue springs to mind) look so beautiful when given careful and, obviously respectful, remastered releases.

Arrow say they are for the fans, they should listen to us, not just the fans of Arrow, eh? I couldnt give a toss who releases a film, so long as its done with care. I've been buying films like this for 30 years or so now. Who releases it doesnt matter, and I've said, as long as this is a decent release, I'll buy it.

You'll obviously buy it no matter what it looks like, so you shouldn't really be bothered at all by those of us who won't if its a smear-me-up job.

If the blu-ray looks anything like the print I saw at the GFT on sunday, it's going to look amazing!

Well said and i agree.

Imo Nucleus Films, Shameless and of course Arrow all represent high quality U.K. product for us exploitation and cult cinema crowd. And as long as evident expense and effort is applied with each edition then long may this level of excellence continue.

TF is looking like another shining example of those rare British releases that are the exception to the rule where U.K. DVD and BR titles are concerned. In other words, far from a typical rip-off and all the better for it!

Silly question, but what does EE stand for
