It was shot on two cameras. One of them was the Arri S which was a 16mm camera.

SEASON OF THE WITCH was also shot in 16mm.

Although it's been a long time since I've seen that, I do remember that the AV quality was far from stellar, so 16mm stock does sound about right.

Just wasn't possible - Arrow really wanted to do a BD but the materials really weren't up to scratch. This DVD set though rocks though if you love the film.

Okay thats cool. Thats actulally pretty cool of you not putting it on the BD if it wasn't gonna be worth it and such. Will deff pick it up on wax. The packaging is always swanky on these releases.

I only have a handful of DVDs that are better than Martin -- all of those are special editions that came with steelbooks, lenticular frames, frames from the original negative or other stuff like that which I paid extra money for. In this case, it is a double-dip off the previous Arrow Films DVD but it is very well priced (available for only £9.99) and is the best DVD package of Martin available.

While I'm loathe to upgrade when its not to HD, I'm going for this. My Lionsgate disc only has the "widescreen" version, and I want the proper framing, and with the alternate version on disc 2 for only £9.99, I can easily justify this one!
