No negativity here.....
I can do without the slipcase and the poster and the booklet for that matter.
Extras don't mean that much to me either.
I'd rather have a vanilla Blu Ray of a cult film than sweet **** all.

Truth is,we've been spoiled with these super-duper editions and if it means dumping them to get an initial release, then so be it.

Sad but there it is.
The way the world is just now,we can't expect to have our cake and eat it.

I already have one, so another wouldn't hurt!

Reaps is right - we have been spoiled for a couple of years with releases which have all the trimmings and would have been incredibly happy with releases like this from day one.

After much thought on the matter I have finally concluded that this move is not nearly as bad as I first thought.
Arrow are showing great ingenuity in the face of difficult situations and we must make sacrifices to support them. He'll, I lice slipcased but they damage so goddamn easily, and having them removed will actualy take a load off my mind.
The removal of the posters chides me alittle as I do actualy use them, but hey ho what can I do about it?!
One question though. Comics. Arrow must have invested alot of money into making them so I presume when it comes to distributing say Battle Royale the comic will still be present?

I'm curious as to why Caligula has been chosen as the first unlimited release. Presumably this one is lowest on stock of the now limited edition.

Nail. And. Head.

I'd imagine CALIGULA has to be Arrow's top seller.

I believe Caligula is by far Arrow's lowest priced release too. £9.49 on Amazon, I've seen it on sale for six quid a few times too.

As for anyone asking "why?" (in so many words):

It's nice that Arrow stuff in extras, but the reality is that if I wanted great extras on top of a great film I would own all of Eureka's Masters of Cinema releases, Studio Canals Digibook releases and probably Artificial Eye's releases instead of Arrow and Sony's Gold Classics. As awful as it may sound, the reason I would buy an Arrow release over Artificial Eye if they were released on the same day is because Arrow's releases are (thanks to the slipcovers) really stylish and nicely uniform. If not for that, I wouldn't have bothered with maybe half of my collection. Sure, I enjoyed all of them (except for Caligula) but there is a lot of competition out there worthy of my money. After all, £16 per film (or the even higher RRP) is hardly cheap for 2-4 hours or entertainment.

To me an excellent transfer and excellent extras take place over packaging, booklets and posters (as much as I love those, especially the posters!) but as I'll continue to buy them anyway I can't imagine ever bothering with these Unlimited versions.
