Here's the first info on the upcoming Shameless edition of Italio-Sci-Fi-Smut 'classic' Beast in Space

Shameless once again bravely strike out into the wild country of exploitation by bringing you a stellar example of 70s Porno Space Opera. Beast in Space is a perfect example of the kind of kinky, psychedelic sexual weirdness that only the 70s could produce.

Shameless received a complete, uncut print of Beast in Space, with the Shameless cut being the strong XXX version with trims to appease the BBFC rather than the standard softcore version. This allows for the strongest British version possible while still maintaining an 18 certificate.

Here, for instance, are two examples of what snuck past the censor:

- A beastly and erect prosthetic penis

- the “Beast / Sirpa Lane rape scene”. which has been edited to give a longer version than existing non-hardcore cuts of the movie.

So, what we have is a unique Shameless edit of the movie, which is in keeping with the way the films were made. As most people on the site know, films like this were designed to be released in multiple edits depending on the moral outlook of the territory where they were showing. As such there can be no definitive version (in much the same way that Jess Franco's The Bloody Judge was a torture film in Germany, a softcore fleshfest in France and an historical romp in the UK).

Ha, I watched the XXX version of Beast last night. Nothing happens for about an hour (too much talking), but it livens up when they get to the plannet and all the sex stuff starts. The beast looks hilairious with his big hairy legs, hooves and huge penis. Also his guards all look like jimmy Saville.

Yes. They are badly done too; Even though the sex scenes are taking place in the woods, the inserts have clearly been shot in a room.
