If you can get past the 456th superhero cover in a row, the latest Empire has some decent features. 8 pages on The Walking Dead 6 pages on Ben Wheatley 6 pages on The Witch Irvine Welsh writes 8 pages on getting Trainspotting from novel to screen 6 pages on the Coen brothers Full page reviews of Blue Velvet and the Hellraiser box set. Eli Roth's thoughts on 6 cannibal films, including Massacre in Dinosaur Valley but sadly not Cannibal Terror. |

I usually get EMPIRE passed on to me now. I used to get the mag every month but now just have a quick look in the shop. The last issue I bought was the Star Wars Force Awakens 3D cover. |

That was annoying, the 3d cover. I had a subscription bought for me 5 years ago and it's still running which is nice. Anyway subscribers always get their own cover but in this case the 3d one was far superior to the non 3d subscribers version.

I only buy it if there's a cool poster in it I want (last one I bought was last year, it was the new Bond on one side and Spy Who Loved Me on the other. Needless to say, Spy looks good on my wall )

Don't they? Miserable buggers! Like I said, it's the only reason I buy the odd issue here. I skim through it occasionally, but let's face it even if there are any modern flicks I'm interested in there's this little thing called the internet these days. |

I can't use my desktop on the loo though. Last edited by Demdike@Cult Labs; 2nd February 2016 at 11:01 PM. |

Get yourself an iPad I've always preferred Total Film to be honest, its tone is a bit more irreverent which I like, plus sometimes I think Empire's reviews are 'sponsored' by the studios, they are quite predictable at times.
