Without the gift subscription i wouldn't buy any movie mags at all. Perhaps a copy of Rue Morgue every now and then.

Agreed. I find the writing in Empire to be a little pretentious. Total Film is a little more down the earth.

I just cancelled my subscription funnily enough, they have revamped the magazine and managed to make it even worse somehow

The covers were the only good thing about it.

The 4 star review for Suicide Squad was the final straw

Oddly the Mail also gave it 4 stars.

I actually really want to see it and will probably pick it up as soon as it hits dvd.

I was given a subscription to Empire for Christmas about ten years ago and it's still running. I don't think i've actually opened the pages of the last three editions yet. I didn't even know it had been spruced up. I'm not a big one for change to magazines.
