Part of the attraction to American comics when I was young was the small adds for everything from ant farms to x-ray specs. It was all stuff you either couldn't get in this country or it was so expensive that your parents wouldn't get it for you even if they could. AND what really peed me off was that Yank kids could get it dirt cheap any day they wanted.

I really wanted to be American when I was eight!

Hard to tell with them crazy yanks (don't know the politically correct term for crazy yanks) probably genetically engineered midgets.

I looked up artemia salina which it mentions in very small text, sea monkeys are actually these guys and don't have blonde hair and lipstick.

Its just a small type of shrimp. they can grow to 15mm in size.

They're about as interesting as pet rocks! But as they live short, fast lives you can get a few generations out of a packet of dried artemia eggs, perfect for the attention span of your typical ADHD kid!

The newly hatched nauplii of these brine shrimp are especially good for feeding to tropical fish fry!

BUT...
they don't make castles, have "families" or elaborate social interactions like the advert intimates!
