No, not yet. However, due to the weekend, they will probably only hear about it today, so watch this space!

Does everyone suspect a mastering error or editorial choice on the missing subs / audio?

I've now heard from Shameless about this and it's simply down to the licensing agreement Shameless have for the film. They were permitted to include Italian audio with English subs on the DVD but not the BD.

Incidentally, as I'm sure most of you already know, Cannibal Holocaust was actually shot in English, making the English track the original audio, despite the film being Italian in origin.

Since it's not listen on the back of the box I suspect it's not a mastering error but an intentional choice, like the inclusion of German audio on the recent New York Ripper dvd which was absent from the bluray. Just my thoughts though, obviously.

edit: posted after Sarah's comment above obviously!

That is a strange one. Like the owners of the Russ Meyer films not allowing Arrow to release them as Arrow Video titles. Licensing agreements are funny things. But yes, I can't say it matters (to me anyway), since CH was filmed in English.

That makes things much clearer so, although it may sound strange, I imagine licensing agreements are pretty hard to negotiate which will account for the differences between the DVD and BD releases.

I imagine it's to do with Shameless not infringing on an Italian distributor's territory. So, if an Italian company wants to release it on BD there isn't already a BD available with Italian audio to compete against.

I only ever watch CH in English anyway so it's not bother to me.

I'm the same and, though the DVD I have offers an Italian track, I've never used it and would probably only do so out of curiosity.

That said, whenever the DVD shows up (stock levels are surprisingly low), I will probably that with the Italian audio just to see if I've been missing anything.

Thanks for the clarification
To tell the truth, I thought the licensing agreement simply allowed the label to release it, generally speaking, regardless of the format, looks like I was wrong...

One more reason to keep my old DVD.
