Also the sheer length of the sequence.

The scene had problems in Australia as well.

Just checked again and indeedy you're right. The burning scene looks like an optical 'stretch edit' to me too and a very convincing one. Remarkably well done for its time and thoroughly nasty with it. The rest of the film never lives up to that opening scene.

As I mentioned earlier this would be a real tough one for the BBFC to pass but I still think it would sneak through intact. Just.

Even if it was cut Vince, which as you say is unlikely, the cuts would be no more than about 5 seconds at most.

Quite a difference from the 3 mins 7 secs to the cinema/video version.

Out of the 74 i have seen 70, the 4 that I’m yet to see are
Twitch of the Death Nerve - but i have just ordered the ‘another world entertainment’ DVD
Night of the Bloody Apes
And I’m still yet to see an uncut print of I Miss You, Hugs and Kisses and Gestapo’s Last Orgy

I Miss You, Hugs and Kisses isn't bad but extremely slow and talky in places. Much of it is taken up with the courtroom scenes.

As with Possession it's one of the most out of place films on the list.

I have a vhs copy of I Miss You, Hugs and Kisses as Drop Dead Dearest but I was told it was cut

Possession!!!! I love that film ...when everyone was watching Jurassic Park I was watching a copy of Possession, I would have been about 7 or 8 years old when I watched it.

The Witch Who Came from the Sea is somewhat out of place when you compare it to the others on the list

Yes it was cut by just over a minute. I used to have it and the cuts were painfully obvious too. It would have no BBFC problems today.

Can someone tell me which of the video nasties still remain unavailable on dvd anywhere in world? I am trying to collect them all slowly and just want to make sure I don't end up with a bootleg.

Thanks
