Seems so silly that it can be banned by the BBFC, yet you can buy it on Amazon UK.

Heck, you can get the fully uncut 'Cannibal Holocaust' on DVD via Amazon Prime: Cannibal Holocaust - 2 DVDs Steelbook (Uncut): Amazon.co.uk: Ruggero Deodato: DVD & Blu-ray

I see Keirarts has a couple up for sale as well. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-lis...on=collectible

I can see him selling them pretty quick NOT!.

Its amazes me how people ask such silly prices and then have cheek to add pp..

I keep seeing silly prices on the 'collectable' pages.

I would have thought the last few years have proven that DVDs have little to no intrinsic value, so many previously rare and expensive DVDs have been replaced by readily available Blu-Rays. Particularly on a film as comparatively mainstream as this one.

Talk of censorship and banning always reminds me of the NOFX song "vanilla sex", which is about porn rather than scary films, but still holds truth considering the recent government legislation agains things such as face sitting! Lol.

Lyrics-
Don't ever take away from me my pornography
We obviously don't agree on what's obscene
I have the right to choose what I
Want to see and read

Don't try to take away from me
My right to privacy cause what I
Do is no one's business but me

So stay in your missionary position
I hope that you get bored to death
There's no way I'm going through life
Having vanilla sex

The government's trying to get into
Your bedroom you better lock your
Door and close your shades because
There could be someone watching you today

Why do you try to make things illegal
Why do we have to be 21
Are you afraid that people are having
Too much fun
Why do you care what I do in my bedroom
Why do you want to know how I screw
It seems to me you've got nothing better to do

Abel Ferrera is crying censorship over the release of his new film, Welcome to New York, and is asking people to boycott screenings. A thinly veiled biopic of Dominic Strauss Khan, it was a bit too close to the skin for some people...

One of the most important Blaxploitation films ever made is getting a Blu Ray release in the USA from Vinegar Syndrome, Sweet Sweetback's Badasssss Song by Melvin van Peebles. :woot::woot:

But if you want a copy get ready to be labelled a PAEDOPHILE!!

Thank you BBFC, I thought I was an exploitation film collector but apparently I am a kiddy fiddler if I want this historically important classic in my collection.

No...don't blame the BBFC, it's not their fault, it's the LAW! Well, if the law is an ass, it's time to change the ridiculous law.

Gangs are roaming our inner cities looking to abuse children but it's too much of a politically hot potato to discuss whilst we have an alleged paedophile ring ensconced in the corridors of power of our own country. Any allegations are shuffled to one side and deliberately obstructed or go missing in the pursuit of justice but they'll have your ass up in court and labelled in a flash if you want to watch this.

Once again the complete ludicrous implementation of guidelines and badly written laws are miss-interpreted by those in power upon us sheeples. And now we are meant to all nod our heads sagely and agree without questioning them. And if you don't....remember what happened to Jill Dando....

To be fair to the BBFC they did try to find legal loopholes to get round the issue in question but it does seem ludicrous since it has been shown on telly and previously released uncut.

Boo, keep sticking it to the Man!

Yeah, I agree, this time it's not the fault of the BBFC but the dumb ass laws that we rush through in any (over) reaction to perceived harm, especially where minors are involved.

To a degree, I do understand where the law is trying to protect the vulnerable in our sad, PC regimented, Big Brother land but this is as stupid and facile as the law that states no child under 10 is allowed to see an undraped mannequin.

Yes... that is LAW!!

I don't know what is more disturbing, the nudie mannequin law or the fact you know about it.

Its very odd seeing as how I can remember the scene in question being in the VHS release. In the realm of the senses had similar problems I recall.
Just seems plain old bad law making to me. At least its not as bad as the Indiana religious freedom act which seems to be one step away from signs in the windows reading 'no catholics, no jews, no blacks.'
