After Marc Morris sorted out for us just what was banned and what wasn't with the awesome Video Nasty DVD's I was wondering just what else is banned by the BBFC nowadays and after a look have come up with a few titles that are still banned over here but not mentioned in the 160 odd films in the series.

This is not to say that if they were re-submitted now they wouldn't pass but until someone has the balls to try, they are still "banned." This is not a definite list and if you know better than what I found, then feel free to correct me.

BANNED!
Angel of Vengence. aka War Cat.
Bamboo House of Dolls. Available from Denmark but with no English options. There is a Hong Kong version with English subs but that is very hard to find now.
Bare Fist. Bare knuckle fighting documentary.
Bloody Friday.
Bumfights.
Bunny Game.
Caged Women.
Caligula; The Untold Story.
The Candy Snatchers.
Deadbeat at Dawn.
Forced Entry. The Tanya Roberts one, not Harry Reems.
Hate Crime.
Human Centipede 2.
Hidden Rage. aka Perfect Victims.
Hooligan. Documentary on footie violence.
The Howling - Extra's only, not the film.
La Blue Girl.
Living Sex Doll Delivery.
Mikey.
Murder Set Pieces.
NF713.
Savage Man, Savage Beast.
Terrorists, Killers and Other Wacko's.
Traces of Death.
Women in Cell Block 9.

I'm sure there must be others so if you know of one add it in.

I then thought about how many cult films have serious cuts in them. I'm not talking about 1 to 30 second cuts, which are quite substantial but if I include those the list would be thousands long, but serious, mess-up-the-whole-movie cuts over 45 seconds. Really, if you are cutting out over 45 seconds you might as well ban the film because you have royaly facked it up.

Again, as far as I can ascertain these cuts were the last given by our moral guardians at the BBFC which is not to say that if they were re-submitted things would not change. Also correct me if I'm wrong on any of these, this is just what it states on a few sites like Melonfarmers. I'm not trying to say this is all set in concrete.:)

Bare Behind Bars. 1.35s.
Blackbelt. 1.06s.
Blood Diner. 3.53s
Body Weapon. 3.41s.

Confessions of a Serial Killer. Unknown but heavily edited of all rape scenes.
Count Dracula's Great Love. 1.29s.
Dear God! No! 1.37s.
Death Game. 1.03s.
Death Wish 2. 2.58s.
Dirty Sanchez Series 1-9. 4.30s.
Emanuelle in America. 4.31s.
Emanuelle in Bangkok. 4.26s. Basicly if it has Emanuelle or Emmanuelle in the title, it is almost certainly cut!
Enter the Ninja. 1.05s.
Escape from Brothel. 6.38s.
Even Dwarfs Started Small. 2.17s.
Faces of Death 2. 1.54s.
Faces of Death 3. 1.18s.

Jungle Holocaust. 2.46s.
Les Demoniacs. 54s.
Love Letters of a Portugese Nun. 6.15s.
Man Behind the Sun. 2.00s. Limited Chinese UK release. (Rats and cats... I guess?)
Naked Cage. 3.29s.
Naked Killer 2. aka Raped by an Angel. Pre cut by 6.02s plus additional 4.42 BBFC cut.
Old Yeller. Yeah, the dog one..? 1.32s.
On deadly Ground. 1.09s.

The Owner. 1.22s.

Transgression. 8.28s.
Urotsukidoji. ep 1- 5.00s. ep 2- 3.12s. ep 3-3.31s. ep 4- Banned!!
Venus in Furs. 1.05s.
Violence Jack. ep 1 - 3.28s. ep 2 - 6.43s. ep 3 - 25s.

These are just cult films that I could find, there are probably very many more. If you start looking at Manga anime then it appears EVERYTHING is cut and I know very little beyond the ones mentioned above. Old Skool Kung Fu seems to take a kicking too, if there is a Crane going chocky socky on a War beach with a tiger or grasshopper, then 10 to 1 it's cut to shreads too.

Can you tell it's a slow day at work, today.... No spell check at work either so excuse any spellink mustakes.

Human Centipede 2 isn't banned, it is cut by over 2 1/2 minutes though.

Yeah, but the full uncut version was banned and still is in that form. So that's why I stuck it on. :)

If you are feeling up to it, you could separate the list into films which the BBFC has cut according to its own guide lines and policies and those which it has cut because it's the law (such as the Cinematograph (Animals) Act or the Protection of Children Act).

In terms of animals, there are several films on that list which I have the uncut versions and either don't watch certain scenes or avert my eyes. The one which came to mind as I was looking down was The Isle, a terrific film by Kim Ki-duk, but the scenes where a character was cutting flesh from the side of a conscious fish made me feel nauseous and the one later in the film where the main character was taking fish out of the water and giving them electric shocks made me very angry.

I watched the uncut Chained Heat recently. There isn't really anything that you would think would be cut if resubmitted.

I love you too!

I'm expecting the Grindhouse release of Cannibal Ferox, but there's no way I'm watching the full scene with the pig being killed! Once was enough for this lifetime.

Okay, but this is off the top of my head based on if I've seen it or what I've heard, but shouldn't be far off. I'll do the banned and cut lists.

Cinematograph (Animals) Act cuts.

Savage Man, Savage Beast.
Cannibal Ferox 2.
Emanuelle in Bangkok.
Enter the Ninja.
I Saw the Devil.
The Isle.
Jungle Holocaust.
Man Behind the Sun.
Old Yeller. That's about it for the Animal Act I think.

Protection of Children Act.

Really I have no idea what this covers as every single thing rated 15 and over could be cited as "Harmful to children if seen."
The best I could guess would be Women in Cell Block 9 as one of the actress is meant to be under age. Maybe Sweet Movie too as I thought it was harmful to me!!

If you have some parameters you can give me I'd be able to give a bit more of an informed opinion.

The rest is down to our Classifiers. ;)

Does anyone know why Ferrera's Fear City is cut so much, is it just here or everywhere?

EDIT; Sweet Sweetback is another (ridiculous) one.
