Unfortunately as you know the BBFC have to cut animal cruelty, no matter how old the film is. The animals act is retrospective. It's not really the BBFC at fault it's the animals act itself.

Then again I do agree with the cutting of animal cruelty so I'm not complaining
Well said, Angel.

Banned For UK Cinema
Not Submitted Due To Probable Rejection

Mondo Cane was passed for cinema the following year (1963) with around 14 mins of cuts/edits.

Let Me Die a Woman although initially rejected was passed X with extensive cuts 2 years later.

I can't see Love Camp 7 and Women In Cellblock 9 getting through today.

Well spotted Angel. I must have missed that one. I've only ever seen the uncut version so I wonder what the cut print was like?

I agree. Love Camp 7 wouldn't be rejected now but it would still suffer heavy cuts. Ditto for The Beast In Heat.

Can't say I thought much of the uncut version and with 10m of cuts it must have been pretty worthless.

Yes Beast in Heat is every bit as disturbing as Love Camp 7.

Can be difficult to say for sure if a film that was rejected many years ago would still be rejected today, but as the BBFC continue to get more lenient, fewer films would be rejected now.

Some of the rejections in the past have been a bit laughable, Glen and Glenda for example.

Battleship Potemkin (one of my all-time fave movies) was also rejected waaay back in 1926.

Fight For Your Life would pose no BBFC problems either, though I can't see Porno Holocaust being welcomed with open arms.

Erotic Nights of the Living Dead has a slight chance of going through uncut. The XXX fottage is at the begining and the rest of the movie is a standard zombie flick.

Anyone here seen Sweet Movie?

Rejected by the BBFC in 1975. Would still have problems today.

I read your comments about this dubious little title over at WWDVD Angel and you've got me curious. Hopefully I'll be seeing it shortly.

Look forward to your comments, Vince.

What unbelievable rubbish it is, god knows what on earth its really all about. But there are several extremely sick scenes.
