Well if they're just a collection of shock scenes strung together then it's bad news for anyone wanting an uncut UK release.

Next time I get a chance I'd like to see one of these films just to see what they are like. I've always avoided them in the past because of the animal scenes. It's either going to be Savage Man or Addio for me.

I have seen Africa Addio and it would definitely be cut for animal cruelty. Hunters tripping up zebras with rope attached to two jeeps, rhinos having loads of spears stuck in them, dying elephants being blown up etc..

Addio Zio Tom would be cut for underage nudity.

Has anyone seen the uk of Mondo Cane yet? I think it was sneaked out with an E rating.

The Animals Film has also never been cut by the BBFC though it's an incredibly hard film to watch. The previously-cut human violence would definitely pass in Mondo Cane today though, as Angel says, it's hard to judge how far the BBFC would go with the animal footage.
The Animals film was really hard to watch.
Some of the scenes really stick with you.
Sickening what man does to animals.

Either one of those two films Angel would give you a fair representation of the Mondo genre's more extreme side.

It's horrific, Loops. I saw it when C4 televised it years ago and then caught the new (unedited) DVD a short while back. I've no intention of watching it again.

Its a pro animal rights film that shows every way man is torturing animals.
Its ment to be the animals voice as they cant speak out.
It is brutal and pulls no punches Loop's , so be prepared to be sickened if you decide to watch.

Julie Christie narrates it and, as Vipco says, it's an animal rights documentary. Among its pleasures are shots of baby chicks having their beaks removed, a monkey on LSD, and shots of two dogs genetically joined together in a Japanese laboratory.

Its cause is a worthy one but the film itself is extremely difficult to watch.
