Used to sit and watch them with my late father who had to explain wtf was going on,especially Part 2!
A few years back (maybe 3 years) Channel 4 showed them over christmas/New year for 3 nights, that was when i discovered my love for the films. You know he had a good head for business with this scene.

Yeah that's just after the hospital scene.
An earlier scene that could hint at his icy cold ways Mr B,is the calmness he tells Kay of his Father,Luca Brazzi and the band leader....

He shows how angry he can be and look calm at the same time.

The talent involved was first class, many of the performances never ever being topped.
I'd be hard pushed to think of the following actors in finer roles than the characters they played in The Godfather films....

James Cann
Robet Duvall
Talia Shire
John Cazale
Michael V Gazzo
Al Pacino
Diane Keaton
Sophia Coppolla (Joking!)
I won't include Brando, because his perf in On The Waterfront pips Don Corleone (wasn't in the film long enough-but commanded the screen when he was).

De Niro had a lot of better performances with Jake La Motta,Jimmy Conway and Travis Bickle beating the young Don Vito.

My youngest son is named Sonny because of the Godfather, I was reading the book while my ex wife was pregnant with him and I suggested the name as a bit of a joke (due to my Sicilian heritage) and she loved it so it stuck.

BTW, according to my mother, it’s not short for Santino but a nickname for people called Santino and Salvatore (which just so happens to be my middle name, named after my grandad), bit of pointless trivia for ya

You can feel Al Pacino's pain in this finale....
