I had this reply from Shameless about the dvd -
Hi Jamie,
apologies for the delay in responding.
There is no need to return the disc; we can assure you there is nothing wrong with it. We had to stop the release to retailers for the time being pending resolving a matter which concerns the content of the DVD only.

There are no technical faults and we will advise the forum shortly as the matter resolves itself.

So there's no technical faults with thw disc or the pressing, could there be an extra on it that hasn't been through the BBFC like everything has to of bee? Slashers Trailer Reel maybe?

Tbh, it all sounds very strange to me. Advise the forum as the matter resolves itself? It's not difficult to say what was the matter.

My only guess is that it's region free but the agreement was for a R2 dvd release only, must be a legal issue of some sort to cause a recall that fast. (can't be publicity hype... can it?)

Just to confirm, the Shameless release of Formula For A Murder has now been pushed back until the end of February. We'll keep you posted on any more details when we have them

I watched this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's far from original (a riff on a certain French film, but I'll not name it, as some may see it as a spoiler; but it's the type of story that wouldn't be out of place in an episode of Murder, She Wrote), and not as lurid or ridiculous as many of its contemporaries, but it carves its own identity. An enjoyable little giallo, far from anything more than serviceable. I particularly enjoyed the dream sequences, and the synth score. It looks spectacular compared to screencaps I'd seen prior to this release.

They had a copy in hmv today so I picked it up. A bit pricey but the lack of communication re: the reason behind the delay is a bit concerning

Not concerning, just silly if you ask me. Any other company would come out straight away and say what it is without all the secrecy. But no, the mighty Shameless (yes I'm being sarcastic) can't even do something as simple as that.
