Recently picked up an old 80's board game from eBay called Thunder Road.

Just look at that artwork - SOO cool! I've seen the US cover art and well...it's lame compared to this.

It's basically a huge rip-off of the Mad Max movies - you must smash, shoot and race your opponents to win.

Each person has three post-apocalyptic vehicles (a dune buggy, a car like Max's V8 and a huge battle truck) as well as a helicopter (like the one-man one in Mad Max 2). You have to smash the other vehicles, dodging (or crashing through) wreckages already on the road. It's made up of two boards which slot together to form the road - once a player reaches the end of the board, and needs more road, the back board gets pulled up and EVERYTHING on it booted out of the game. So not only are you forced to blow each other up, but have to try and leave the other cars behind eating your dust.

It's a great game and obviously just an unofficial Mad Max game. Great fun - if you can find it online and you like the films, I'd absolutely recommend it

Considering it's an MB game I'm surprised it's not more well known - it's fallen into obscurity it seems.

Check out this original TV ad - pretty cool

Anyone ever played this or anything similar?
