This week's arrivals.

Justin101 30th April 2016 07:17 PM

My Dracula Steelbook arrived and the packaging from Zaavi was much more robust than the various internet (bluray.com) moaners would have you believe.
I'll certainly use Zaavi again if they have any good offers on.

I'm going to have a quick look at some of my favourite scenes now and see how lovely the remastered 4k disc is compared to the old slightly soft one :)

Despite what many say I've only ever had one issue with Zavvi. They're fast, free delivery, never had anything damaged and always have good offers on something. Their biggest problem is customer service which is just quite long winded and slow. No direct email option. But yeah i use them a lot.

I swore I would nebver go back... but then they released these. Damn you screen Archives!!! Morella was the one that sealed the deal as I remember enjoying it. Went for bog standard postage so I wont be swindled by Royal mails 'handling fee's' for customs charges. Paid by Paypal on the basis that if the items do fail to show I can just paypal dispute the order.

Definitely worth a blind buy – it's a brilliant TV show and the extra features in the set make it a must-own for anyone who likes Twin Peaks.

I've only seen two David Lynch, movies, Dune and The Elephant Man. Love them both. But don't really know what to expect from Twin Peaks.

It's different to every David Lynch film with the obvious exception of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, which I'd advise you stay away from until after you have watched both seasons of the show. It is a prequel, but it's full of spoilers!

The show is a strange, slightly surreal, murder mystery with brilliant characters, and eminently quotable dialogue and exchanges.

Have you seen The Straight Story? It's one of his most approachable mainstream films and is absolutely terrific.

iank 2nd May 2016 08:15 AM

Not a massive fan of Lynch's movies but Mulholland Drive is worth a look. Not a million miles from Twin Peaks in terms of atmosphere at least.

A bit, i had it recorded once but the missus deleted it before i watched it properly. I have every intention of revisiting Eraserhead but it was just the wrong night.

A few pick ups off marketplace. I've heard the Warhol ones are not great quality but currently they are less than £8 each.

One of the best ways to spend a few hours in front of the telly is Blue Velvet followed by The Straight Story, If you weren't a Lynch fan you will be:pop2:

Although if it's your introduction to Lynch i wouldn't watch them back to back or you'll end up a gibbering mess.

I'm a little disappointed with the glow in the dark aspect if I'm honest. Very poor. But he's a great looking little character. I'll probably get Nosferatu next.

Obviously you'll have to get the limited nosferatu42 variant as well.

Is that the one that's only visible in the early hours of Tuesday morning?

I believe so. It leaves spectral traces on people's posts on occasions but it's very rarely seen by mortals.

Good luck on finding one.

Do you have many of those POPs J ?
