How many games do you need?

Do you just look at the box then trade them in again. You sure as shit don't complete every game you buy, watch every film you buy and every tv series you buy.

It's physically impossible.

lucky if i watch 20 % of what i get. its a vicious cycle of buying and trading, so i never have as much as people would think with what i buy.

yes and i know i have a problem !!

Monkeypedro just as bad judging from the pic above , with all the film..
Some of you buy in a month what I buy in a year ,
OK I bought lots recently but I pay mere pennies for mine (not pounds) eg £5 for 50 films ,then go trade what I don't want in local shops cex etc
I'm lucky if I spend £20 a week on films where as some of you pay more than that just for one film
I think their working in the bank and fiddling the money ...or mugging old ladies for their pension.

monkeypedro 26th July 2017 07:39 PM

I do buy a lot of movies and more recently TV series but actually do watch them as i only work part time a few nights a week so i have more time nowadays and i have no rent or mortgage to pay anymore and many of the discs i pick up are cheap and try not to buy a new title on release day and wait for it to be in a sale or someone selling second hand. I normally watch at least one movie a day and have a TV series on the go at a time which may take anything from a week to a month to complete. I also within the last year have started to sell some of my collection to finance new stuff so not so much of a hit on the bank balance.

I used to be an avid gamer but now don't have the time for it as movies are my main focus as impossible to play games and watch stuff unless you don't sleep.

No harm in my comments just banter ,but sometimes I just wish I could afford or buy as many as some people on here , but then again I'm also glad I don't because of me working permanent 6-3 and other things l don't get enough time to watch all the films I buy ..cos I go to bed around 10:30 ish each night and with watching bits of TV and trying to play games I've bought and see Samantha , their just isn't time in the day for me .
But at end of the day we are all film collectors ..:)

There was a member here(not posted for a very long time) who traveled the world to horror film festivals, I used to think "how can they manage that", makes spending on films seem slight, spending the year in Europe, U.S. and all points in between watching shed load of festival films would no doubt cost so much that would make most of us weep, maybe they were retired with a tasty pension or the like(wasn't jealous in the slightest:lol::lol::lol:)

What baffles me more is the free time not the finances if I'm being honest. Most of what i buy these days is CEX or Amazon but i just don't come close to getting the time watch a fraction of the few bits i buy. Never mind factoring vid games and tv shows into it.

True, it's the time with me as well.

Yes it can seem sometimes that i'm on here all day but it's only because i can have my PC on whilst i'm doing paper and laptop work and it only takes a moment to click refresh.

I'm usually busy or out up to 11am each day so it's very rare i'm on here before then and often have to go out during the day on appts.

What i'm trying to say is that being a presence on here is not the same thing as being able to watch films or tv all day as i'm sure b_e, Justin and others can testify to.

I get most my films from cex , charity shops , 2nd shops and places similar , I can't afford to pay £10 and above for a film, its only lately I've bought so many films, I'm lucky if I spend £20 a week .
And I'm defiantly buying more than I can watch I can honestly say my to watch pile is easily 100+ ..and the ones I do watch (well try) half time I fall asleep because I'm tired due to getting up every day at 4:45

Yesterday, I had time to watch The Addams Family, four episodes of Veep, Tour de Pharmacy and a couple of episodes of Baywatch.

That's a film with a running time of under 100 minutes and under four hours of TV, making that day the bit of an oddity because of how much time the TV was on – I would usually watch much less than that!

Crimson Blade 27th July 2017 08:57 AM

Picked up another old Hammer classic from Final Cut.
Should be well worth watching if it's anything like PARANOIAC, and SCREAM OF FEAR.
Just need them to release THE SNORKEL next.

It's so good! A really effective vampire movie! KILLER soundtrack as well which as a guitarist I know you'll like.

I've been meaning to check it out for ages, I liked Let Me In and have since read the book, so it was a no brainier really, especially for such a low price

Demoncrat 27th July 2017 10:34 AM

What he said.

I've read the book and have seen both.
Enjoy. This has one scene in particular that always catches me out ;)

I'm a pro at ALT-Tab while I'm at work haha, although sometimes my boss does sneak up on my and I'm mid flow, but yes, most of the time I'm on here I'm actually at work. I also have no idea how Treb does it, but as he's said he doesn't watch/play the majority of what he gets and trades it back for something else.

I'm out from 8am to 6pm every day, get home, decompress, have something to eat, potter about, spend some time with the flatmate and my other half, it's 9:30-10pm before I know it, it's too late to start a film in case I fall asleep so I end up watching a bit of a TV show or some docs, or extra features on my BDs rather than the main feature

Weekends I'm more successful, and if I have a week off work (I get 7 weeks holidays!) I can watch 2-3 films each day.

Demoncrat 27th July 2017 10:46 AM

Tbh
All I've done this week is watch tv (TP 3, Preacher 2 and Talking Pictures/THC)
Which is a rarity in itself for me.
With the stuff I get unbidden (2 are waiting for me already ) I haven't the time to 'deviate'
from the main programme
Best recent example ...
After watching The Mummy I literally had to put something else on to rid myself of the final scene .... anything else would have done, even autopsy footage

I digress.

Yeah, I'm on here a lot during the day as I usually have The Labs up whilst at work. However, I have been a little more absent from the place and online in general over the past few weeks as we're currently undergoing a bit of a restructure at work and as a result I've also recently got a promotion so have been busier than usual.

Generally I'm out from 7am to 6pm everyday though and although evenings are generally free I haven't been as in the mood for watching as many films lately. I used to try and manage at least one a day but at the moment that's turned into a couple a week. I've still been buying stuff at the same rate though so my to-watch pile is rapidly increasing in size. I've also recently got Netflix (switched from Love Film by Post) which is also affecting the rate of me viewing the stuff I'm buying. There's still loads of stuff on my wish-list but I may have to curb my spending a little as I just don't have the time/inclination to watch a lot of it at the moment.

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 27th July 2017 09:04 PM

Nonsense!

Promotion = more money = more films
