3 Attachment(s) First post of 2019. Beware my Brethren was from Wowhd and the other four were Music Magpie cheapies. Still waiting for several orders from Anime Limited's sale which were placed between the 6-12th December and an order from 101 Films sale so should have plenty of new stuff to watch in the coming weeks. |
2 Attachment(s) And my 101 Films order just arrived by courier. |

One or two there i'd like. Pleased the sale is on until Sunday night. Blindfold is a definite purchase. |
4 Attachment(s) Everything that arrived just prior to Christmas. An assortment of recent releases, Black Friday sale pick ups and promotions (2 for £15 & 2 for £10). Criterion's Zatoichi set is magnificent. I spotted The Dark in my local HMV yesterday for £1.99 (I paid £5 a few weeks ago) and it's a steal if you can find a copy in your local similarly priced. I saw it at Frightfest this year. An incredibly dark, subtle and effective experience. One of those films you have to be prepared to piece together, it doesn't spell everything out for the viewer. All these Christmas / Boxing Day sales are killing me, so far hauls from Arrow, Network and 101 Films. |

Most people had their orders cancelled. The amount of entitlement over on Blu-Ray.com is ridiculous. People are genuinely annoyed that they never got an item which was mispriced by £125!! I ordered one as a long shot never expecting it to be honoured. I got a free £5 voucher though for the inconvenience. |

I’m certainly considering it but I feel like I’ll never get around to watching them all! I haven’t even watched all of the Battles without Honour and that’s only 5 films, I haven’t even started watching Lone Wolf and Cub haha |

9 Attachment(s) Today i traded some dvd's in Cex and picked up the 4K UHD of Meg and bought Angela's Ashes, True Blue, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the metal briefcase edition of Inception from charity shops. Showdown in Little Tokyo was an Ebay purchase. Marlow, Battle of Algiers, Dirty Dozen and Casablanca were Facebook group purchases. Finally had a delivery of some Anime i ordered nearly a month ago although still awaiting a few more titles to turn up. |
Pleased with how I spent my Amazon UK Zatoichi set 5 pounds compensation (I was one of the many who had their 21.93 order cancelled). Bought a copy of the rather old region free Deep Rising/Puppet Masters US blu-ray off a marketplace seller for pretty much half price. It arrived today and was still sealed, it even had the adhesive title strip still attached to the top of the case so it's never been opened. Admittedly I only bought it for Deep Rising but my wife and I will also check out the previously unseen Donald Sutherland film. Deep Rising takes up 20gb of disc space on this double bill Mill Creek disc. I know that a superior standalone Deep Rising was fairly recently released which allocated around 30gb for the film. But I'm still not region free so that was a no go for me. Like I said, pleased with my purchase, was definitely worth having a punt on the Zatoichi misprice just to get a free fiver from Amazon. :) |
7 Attachment(s) Arrivals from HMV. Except Arrow's Incident in a Ghostland which was £3 at Asda just prior to Christmas. All the 88 releases (Except Hide and Go Shriek)are to replace budget discs from the likes of 23rd Century and VIPCO. I'm trusting 88's discs will have better prints. Thought this would be my last opportunity to get these at four quid each. |
3 Attachment(s) Took somethings into cex and got these. |

Demdike! Yeah, I still haven't seen Alien Nation and I look forward to ticking that off my ever expanding list of films that I want to see! :) |

Anything with Terence Stamp and to a lesser extent James Caan in it is worth a look in my book though. I must endeavour to check it out at some point. |
AN is a reasonable scifi thriller/metaphor for racism folks!! Enjoy!!! This Miike film is also quite bloody bonkers btw. Ah ... it's quite refreshing tbh  |
