That's just crazy. She should be more excited about The Fog than ALL the Avengers films.

Where from?

Amazon Italy for the 4K The Fog. Here's a link:

https://www.amazon.it/Fog-4K-Card-Nu...NsaWNrPXRydWU=

I chose the cheapest delivery option when I ordered on Wednesday morning. I've received an email saying that it will be delivered on Saturday which is pretty good.

btw The UK version had both hdr and dolby vision whereas this is just hdr - no loss to me as my television only supports hdr (it was the hdr on the UK disc that had faults)

Got a reply back. My order is in the shipping process and should be out in the next 24 hours.

I bought this today, mainly for the cast ....

San Ferry Ann (1965, Jeremy Summers)

UK dvd.

Recieved 4K The Fog from Italy. Had a sneak peek and it's a nice upgrade. Although being honest, I was a bit shocked by just how grainy the opening shot was. :) After that, the grain becomes less extreme.

The UHD is very much English friendly but if anyone picks it up, make sure to manually disable subtitles with remote otherwise you get an Italian translation of the opening Poe quote.

It actually has a 30 minute extra on the UHD - the MGM 30 minute making of from the old dvds - obviously in standard definition but it's a nice inclusion. Pleased with this, wife and I will watch on Monday.

How come you didn't bother with the recent SC edition with it'multitude of extras, booklets and posters. Is this release better?

The hdr version of the film (which is what my fairly inexpensive 4K television supports) has some errors on the SC version - it's when Father Malone hands over the cross. The cross momentarily dims instead of glowing constantly. Also there's a shot with really bad compression where you can noticeably see blocky shapes in the image. The Italians have fixed those errors on their hdr version making it the better choice for me. The SC also has a dolby vision version on their 4K disc which apparently doesn't suffer from those errors, but as my television isn't dolby vision capable, that's not much good to me.

Interesting to know. Thanks. :)

Remember when just watching the film on vhs or at the cinema was the thing? Print quality wasn't a problem, as long as you could see & hear the film.

It's great that we have all these upgrades but seriously, the film itself is most important & if it's any good. Which the Fog is btw, my new fave JC movie!

Soldier is a lot of fun, Treb. Don't expect much dialogue from Kurt though.

It's a film that i feel was unfairly panned when it was originally released.

Demoncrat 3rd February 2020 11:25 PM

I got Attack mainly because twas an Aldrich film, and you can never have too many of them I find, or don't find as the case maybe. UK. 75p. Immaculate mind. ;)

After the house by the cemetery debacle, I now have a £26.17 "pending" payment to wowhd....is this how much peoples MBV is shipping at? I've lost track! Will post when/if both arrive but no dispatch email yet...

troggi 5th February 2020 08:17 PM

2X3 packs of "Airwaves", like most days. I don't like the mess that gum chewers leave around and have no wish to contribute to said "mess" so I swallow my gum. 60 pieces a day and I wonder why I'm constipated!:embarassed:

Dave Boy 5th February 2020 08:20 PM

I never pre ordered My Bloody Valentine. I'll wait this time. Yeah, after the House By The Cemetery scare I am cautious.

As the UK looks to never have a release and I am tired of waiting I am now forced to go elsewhere for...

Glad I never pre ordered My Bloody Valentine.

They're getting as slow as **** these days, from despatch to delivery.

I'm starting to pay the few extra quid from Toys and Games on ebay.
Fast and reliable and get them early.

Bought this new reissue which Suz was banging on about.
Apparently it has a reversible cover, hopefully without that ****ing censor/certificate rating label.
That's the only thing that stops me buying a lot of Oz imports these days.
