I haven't. I know the had to hold back on the more violent/shocking moments because of the Hays Code that was enforced. I'll try and check it out.

That is indeed a good start to you Blu-ray collection, Argentofan. :)

You'll have to start an online collection at Blu-ray.com so us nosy folk can have a browse of your collection every now and then ;)

I'd have picked them all up. They can fetch a bit on marketplace, especially if your prepared to ship overseas.

Me too, that's why it's taken me so long to get it, it's always been stupidly priced on both Amazon & eBay up to now, and I've never seen a copy on the high street either.

FYI: There's another listed cheap on eBay at the minute for anyone that wants to pick up the LE version

I know what you mean but what about the Hollywood set "sunny" noir, "In A Lonely Place". Dark at heart but bright in look!

One of my fave noirs ever.

It may be bright in look but to me its still very much a noir, and as you say very dark at heart concentrating on suspicion, doubt and inner demons. Bogart is immense as Dixon Steele (surely his porn star alter ego) and Gloria Grahame is the best i've ever seen her.

A far better film than the majority of the better known classics of the genre.

Good call MTDS.
