This weekend I picked up the following on Blu-Ray

Homefront Jason Stathem has grown on me over the past couple of years, so I though I would give this a spin.

Almost Human Australian sci-fi abduction horror which I saw at Glasgow Fright Fest earlier in the year.

Magic, Magic which I liked at Imagine in April.

and finally 21 Jump Street which I picked up as preparation for seeing the sequel next week.

My recent order from Arrow Sisters, Phantom of the Paradise, Django prepare a coffin, Pitstop, Blind Womans Curse and King of New York also arrived on Thursday.

Stephen, when you get a chance to try it out I'd be very interested in your opinion of the transfer of this especially in comparison to the UK release

Just had a quick look at it and compared it to the Shameless release. The Grindhouse disc is the clear winner. Looks a lot more film-like, with more natural grain. I've included one shot here. The Grindouse (2nd pic) looks a lot nicer, with no DNR.

This beauty arrived in the mail today

As this is my first MOC blu I must say I was really blown away by the amazing looking booklet and all the extras. Really a quality release. My next one will be Dr Mabuse or Touch of evil! :)
