I pre-ordered the ROTLD steelbook. It must be the biggest steelbook in the world, because it wouldn't fit through my letter box. I regulary get 3 dvd's from amazon through my letterbox so dunno why I have to go to the sorting office.

Amazon have started packing their steelbooks in a cardboard sleeve surrounded by a cardboard box for extra padding. I think they had too many being returned due to dents etc.

re.form 7th June 2012 08:06 PM

Ahh that's ok then, thanks.

Gojirosan 7th June 2012 08:08 PM

I left my first ever packaging feedback on Amazon regarding the excessive packaging used with the ROTLD steelbook. I was not impressed.

re.form 7th June 2012 08:26 PM

Way too much, then? I was half thinking they'd sent me the VHS! :)

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 7th June 2012 08:27 PM

I'd rather have a mountain of packaging than a dented steelbook.

it looks fine to me, doesn't look 'smeary' at all, but then i'm watching it on a 32" so possibly not getting the full affect.

I had a quick scan through it last night. The opening has had some dnr applied but after the credits, it looks ok to me. Not smeary at all, judging by the grain I could see.

Well so far this year

I've bought the following, all from amazon, best prices and living in a small town places limits on what I can buy.

Shadows - The Complete First Series [Series One] [1975]
The Chocky Trilogy
Asylum (1972)
Don't Go in the House[1980]
Beadle's About - The Complete First Series [1986]
Home Before Midnight [1978]
Human Remains [2000]
The Strange World of Gurney Slade
Bunny Lake Is Missing [DVD] [2008] (DVD)
Mumsy, Nanny, Sonny and Girly [1970]
Fright [1971]
Frightmare [1974]
Twisted Nerve [1968]
Les Diaboliques [1955] (blu-ray replacement)
Midnight [1982]
Pieces [1982]

Gotta try and keep topped up with dvds for my 24 hour film marathons.

I'm not so bothered. Also, I don't see how the usual Amazon packaging isn't enough. I have never had a dented steelbook ever.

Oh yeah, that GRAVE OF THE VAMPIRE DVD is truly abysmal, the worst of all Vipco's DVD transfers.

You really shouldn't; he's a thoroughly despicable and reprehensible little turd of a man as this newspaper article confirms

ReturnToZero 8th June 2012 03:38 PM

I would say that Gerry and Kate are far worse than the little medium guy. They should be in jail.

We-ll...there's no proof for that is there though, regardless of what you think. It IS speculation. There is proof that Acorah is a little morally bankrupt turd, as can be evidenced from that article.

This is totally drifting off topic but your second point completely misses the point. Surely all the money went into funding the investigation into her disappearance? It's not like they were sitting around their newly constructed swimming pool in their newly furnished house saying "Well, that scam worked eh ?" while making love on piles of bank notes.

Plus, this isn't a competition of who to dislike more. You said you like Derek Acorah. I'm saying I don't think you should on account of his lies about being contacted by a spirit presence who informed him that Madeline McCann was dead. Strange how that spirit didn't go into more detail about her death or even give a description of her killer. That might have actually helped the police. It's a fairly sickening way for Acorah to grab attention and this is clearly what has happened; no-one can deny that

Yes I agree and I do think that if Derek did get contacted it would have been nice to have been told (this is going to shock ppl) where she was taken and if she is dead where is her body buried and how did she die

Have you seen the South Park episode The Biggest Douche in the Universe? He's basically one of those pricks. Amongst other things he gives gullible people false hope that their dead loved ones are all happy and content in the afterlife purely for the pursuit of money and fame, BUT DOES IT IN THE VAGUEST WAY POSSIBLE. A sickening charlatan

That Madeleine has been kidnapped is also pure speculation as there is not a single proof at all except for what her parents have said to the mainstream media. I wonder what proof they actually have... oh right NONE. Only speculation.

The whole case is a complete brainwash and the investigation of her parents involvement/or what they know is far from complete in a professional sense.

PaulD 8th June 2012 03:54 PM

Bleurgh, I hate Marc Wooton and his Shirley Ghostman character. I hate everything :(

Susan Foreman 8th June 2012 03:58 PM

Totally off topic, but I had to laugh at the way Acorah was unmasked as a fraud.

Quoting from Wikipedia:

"In July 2001, Acorah was asked to feature in a new British television programme called Haunting Truths which was subsequently sold to Living and renamed Most Haunted. It was at this time that he arguably became Britain's most widely known medium and was described as "the sexiest man in Spiritualism". He worked on the show for six series until his departure in 2005. Acorah claims that he left the show to pursue other projects although the show's presenter, Yvette Fielding is reported to have said that he was asked to leave after Ciarán O'Keeffe, a parapsychologist for the show, fed him misinformation to which he later responded during an investigation, presenting himself as being possessed by the spirit of a fictional character, which the Fielding and the programme makers to question Acorah's credibility. Acorah said he was possessed by the spirit of a man called Kreed Kafer. In a later interview the programme's parapsychologist, Ciarán O'Keeffe, said that the character was a fabrication he invented, and an anagram of "Derek faker". O'Keeffe had fed this name to Acorah prior to the programme, and he had subsequently repeated it during filming.[6] In a separate interview, the show's presenter and executive producer Yvette Fielding said "Unbeknown to us, Ciaran O’Keeffe had suspicions about Derek and decided to plant some information to see if it would be repeated. He left a piece of paper around with the name ‘Kreed Kafer’ on it and said, within earshot of Derek, that he was a nasty South African jailor. When we started filming, Derek decided to get possessed by this fake person. The name is actually an anagram of Derek Faker. We tell people everything is real, then it turns out he was a fake, so he had to go." She added "I was more angry than anything. I was upset that someone we considered to be close could do that.""

Stephen@Cult Labs 8th June 2012 04:02 PM

Unmasked as a fraud? That would imply there are actually prople who CAN communicate with the dead. Piffle! They're all fakes, and I feel sorry for the mugs out there who believe all that crap.
