It has three actors I like in it and is based upon a class original...

...and it is one of the very few films I have ever been unable to sit through to the end.

The characters are vile (you just cannot sympathise with them) and the whole affair is badly handled and trite. IMO.

She was hilarious in The Cave.

And you are quite right to hide for liking the *insert obscenity* Coyote Ugly, Dem!

Remakes are almost always pointless and significantly inferior to the originals upon which they are based. I also find the total lack or originality quite depressing too, but that is the way of modern Hollywood.

Especially in those pant suits. :faint:

Gojirosan 24th June 2012 06:31 PM

Nope. Not doing anything for me.

(I didn't realise they said "pant suits" in Wales!)

The 4th Fella 24th June 2012 07:12 PM

I don't know what they're called here. Mind you, only last year, the first indoor toilet was installed. ;)

Slippery Jack 24th June 2012 08:23 PM

What's the difference between a pant suit and a suit  Aren't the pants part of the suit? It's like me saying I'm going to whip up an egg omelette  . . .

Although the original is better, I quite like this version and, if you don't hold the original as a sacred cow, it's well worth watching.

I may be completely wrong, but I thought a 'pant suit' or, in Britain, a 'trouser suit' is the description used to differentiate a woman's smart attire which is usually a smart, dark skirt and matching jacket.

GangsterQ 25th June 2012 11:06 AM

2 x S. Martino from the shitty and expensive label MYA :tongue1:

Makes sense to me, though either term sounds oddly outdated (women folk wearing trousers!? Ye gods!!) . . .

It is a very 'traditional' term!

If you see the words 'a man's suit', you know exactly what it is, and a woman's suit was, and I believe still is, the same but with a skirt instead of trousers, hence why the term 'trouser suit' is used.

I can see the description sticking around until all women everywhere no longer wear skirts as part of formal attire, something which won't happen for a long, long time – if ever.

Water Power (the Alpha France dvd) also comes with Femmes De Sades (which looks pristine imho). What a charming tale. Recommended to people who think Srpski is tame.:laugh: sit through this f*cker!!

It came from Diabolikdvd in their usual speedy fashion.

That's the issue I was having - "pant suit" instead of "trouser suit". It sounded odd. Like a suit made out of old boxer shorts and knickers...

One of the downfalls of adopting 'US English' into common parlance on these shores!

I forgot to say that after Jaguar lives I can say so much, but I fell asleep too early. That old ****ing guy in the beginning who was supposed to be his 'sensei' was extremely stiff. Not that strange though, he was like 85 hahaha.

Do you mean Woody Strode? He's nowhere near that old and can be really good character actor – you may recognise him from the opening sequence in Once upon a Time in the West.

ReturnToZero 25th June 2012 02:38 PM

Best order i've ever done. Can't decide if i'm happy or not though

I made a mistake and ordered too many. I noticed it when it was too late to cancel. And now PlanetAxel doesn't exist anymore so no point returning them ;)

Ouch that's rough! I thought it was one of those very happy mistakes, like when I got three Vengeance Trilogy boxsets for the price of one (thanks hmv) . . .
