I believe the beyond terror version is uncut, if its the same as the Vipco release it is for sure but the quality is nothing to write home about. At that price its still a good pick up but the difference in quality between the beyond terror and Dark Sky releases is like night and day in terms of sound, picture and bonus features.

The film SHOULD look like an EC horror comic come to life, the Dark Sky release really represents this.

I personally LOVE it. If you like things like Tales from the crypt and EC horror comics it's a really enjoyably twisted take on those kinds of story's. Not as ferocious as Texas chainsaw but it has the same pitch black humor only turned up to 11. Also check out Robert Englund in it, he's really great in this and was a big influence on one of the characters from kill bill volume 1. (some might even say out and out stolen)

Just received Takashi Miike's MPD-Psycho complete trilogy/series/whatever you want to call it. I bought it in the 3 separate volumes. Could have gone for the complete box set but it was cheaper to go the way I did. So I'll be checking that out soon

I have this too (a different release though). A very odd show... but as it is Miike, it is to be expected. ;)

The picture I used actually isn't the exact release I got. The art work is just very similar and I couldn't find any images on google of the releases I picked up so I just used that one. I am assuming mine is an Australian/New Zealand release, However I can't find that anywhere and the disc is region free so not entirely sure. It's put out by "Shock Entertainment Group" though.

I haven't seen it either, Of course a big Miike fan though so had to pick it up and I will get around to checking it out eventually.

Actually I take that back. I guess "Shock Entertainment" is maybe whoever has the rights or something? It's actually put out by "Siren Visual" or maybe that's a sub company of "Shock" or something? I have no idea! If anyone else knows, let me know!

There was a web address printed on the inner cover for Siren Visual and it's an Australian company who puts out "Japanese anime, documentaries and off-beat cinema". Never even was aware of this company before. They have some really cool stuff on their site though  why did I have to go and find this site, now i'm going to be spending MORE money

This is pretty much most of January, aside from the things already posted. Some 2013 releases I enjoyed theatrically, and a few I didn't get around to catching. Plus the latest Eureka and Arrow releases, and some Eureka sale goodies (I still hope both will get upgrades). I'll be saving Wings for Oscar night. I always watch one previous winner and one nominated movie prior to the show (genuinely a sucker for the nonsense of awards season). Nice to finally track down Oblivion in amaray (Sainsburys have it online for anyone still having issues). Curious to know what's going on with Formula For A Murder.

What's up with formula for murder? Didn't even realize it was out!

I genuinely have no idea. We're all speculating in the Formula For A Murder thread. It vanished from various places online and was delayed, due to a glitch that hasn't quite been clarified yet. It's apparently not a glitch with the content of the disc though. Curious indeed.

Weird. I had gone to order it and noticed it had disappeared. Actually managed to order two off play.com (one for a friends birthday.)

If anyone has seen it and can let me know if there's a fault with the disc I'll cancel the order.

Be advised that BCI's Curse/Shadow have some technical problems (BCI even offered replacement discs for a short while):

Curse of the Devil Paul Naschy

Werewolf Shadow, Curse of the Devil (BCI)

Still nice to have those BCI versions though.

Yeah,:p it's a shame as these really need re-issuing. I think someone mentioned on here that the rights were so expensive it was what helped run BCI out of business. Given spain is broke you would think they would be keen to make some quick bucks by offering the rights a bit cheaper. Maybe let redemption or someone stick them out?
