Top 10 'coolest' scenes*

2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) - Monolith on the Moon

[the music certainly aids to the 'coolness' of this one - it makes the hairs stand up on every inch of your body - even places you didn't know you had hairs. Even your hair's hairs.]

Alien (1979) - Chestburster scene

[one of the coolest scenes in Scott's original Alien... of which there are many.]

An American Werewolf in London (1981) - Transformation scene

[one of the coolest visual effects sequences ever committed to celluloid.]

Blade Runner (1982) - Deckard 'retires' Zhora

[...in a pretty cool way too.]

Jurassic Park (1993) - Dilophosaurus scene

[Nedry gets his comeuppance - in a cool way.]

Nosferatu (1922) - Shadow scene

[a brilliantly cool scene utilising light & shadow - simple yet ever so effective.]

Steamboat Bill Jr. (1928) - House fall

[Buster Keaton proves once again he has balls of steel as the front of a house falls down on top of him and he doesn't even flinch. The epitome of cool.]

Tenebrae (1982) - Double Murder

[+ cool tracking shot and score = gialli perfection.]

The Terminator (1984) - Police station shoot-out

[Arnie will be back in one of the coolest ways possible.]

Videodrome (1983) - TV scene

[Debbie Harry's pulsating lips beckoning you would be enough to make anyone want to stick their head in a TV after her.]

*that I can think of!

I'm assuming it'll be something along the lines of Top 10 best creature designs / movie monsters.
