1980: The Blues Brothers - Laugh out loud, eminently quotable and a cracking soundtrack all add up to make an unmissable film
1981: The Prodigal Son - Sammo Hung directed, Yuen Baio action comedy. All that is missing is Jackie [When it comes to 1981 comedies, it was either this or 'An American Werewolf In London', and we are trying to avoid horror comedies aren't we!]
1982: Tootsie - Again, the only comedy I have from this year, unless you are going to allow me to have 'Pieces'!
1983: Project 'A' - Jackie, Sammo and Yuen. Another classic action comedy
1984: This Is Spinal Tap - The essential film for anyone who either likes rock music, or has played in a rock band
1985: Police Story - More Jackie, and another hilarious thrill-ride
1986: Little Shop Of Horrors - Same comments as for 'The Blues Brothers'. The Directors Cut, with the alternate ending, is even better than the theatrical version
1987: Withnail And I - The ONLY comedy film I have got from 1987
1988: Elvira, Mistress Of The Dark - There are a couple of reasons why I have chose this film!
1989: The 'Burbs - Again, the ONLY comedy film I have from 1989

If nothing else, this weeks topic has shown me that (unless it's a horror comedy, or a Hong Kong action film) I don't have a lot to laugh at from the 80's in my collection!
