Should put all this stuff back on the telly! I imagine today's PIF would, sadly, be about guns or something.

Default Look at Life

Look at Life.
The Look at Life dvds are made up of Rank's short doc's they made as fillers and intervals at your local cinemas in the 60s and 70's,back in the day when you would get double features. These PIFs were'nt the scare mongering kipper tie wearing shorts of the 70s but a more laid back approach looking at all aspects of life in the uk.The dvds look at different aspects ,Transport,Swinging London, science and the millitary.
Apparently Rank made nearly 500 shorts and all in technicolor,so they look great remastered, again a great look at times gone by.

Look at Life was a regular series of short documentary films produced between 1959 and 1969 by the Special Features Division of the Rank Organisation for screening in their Odeon and Gaumont cinemas and always preceded the main feature film that was being shown in the cinema that week. It replaced the circuit’s newsreel, Universal News, which had become increasingly irrelevant in the face of more immediate news media, particularly television.
Produced on 35mm film and in Eastmancolor, these ten minute 'featurettes' melded a light hearted magazine format with a more in depth documentary approach and depicted aspects of life, mainly in Britain

Default Look at Life - Scooter Commuter, 1962

Look at Life - Scooter Commuter, 1962
I seem to be on a real nostalgic trip at the moment, and also liking scooters this PIF is a real joy,old cars old scooters London in the 60s,and unbelievable amount of black taxis and red double deckers, and of course the clothes,no scares just pure nostalgia

Lap up the 1960's vibe with this little 'Look at Life' Featurette film below; those fabulous cars, the winkle pickers, the pudding bowl helmets and the implication that you could use your scooter as a shopping bag girls!
