I've been waiting to hear about that Mark Of The Devil BD too. Posted in the tiny thread at blu-ray.com a while back and I heard it started shipping a few weeks ago somewhere but no reports yet...

It'll be interesting to know how much of the additional content is English language friendly and what the PQ/AQ is like.

I'd be particularly interested to know whether the commentaries are in English (the Michael Armstrong one should be) or, if not, whether subtitles are available.

Anyone who's thinking about getting the upcoming Lone Wolf and Cub BD boxset may want to hold off, as it is being re-released on 25th September with the Sword of Venegeance/Baby Cart at he River Styx films instead of the composite Shogun Assassin!

I've always wanted to see "Night Tide" but have never got round to it. It's one of many films that I only remember I want to see when I see it mentioned somewhere. Anyone else have this problem or are you all list makers?

Refused 10th April 2012 12:51 PM

I have that problem all the time!
I also constantly walk into shops and then entirely forget what films I was going to search for.

I'm totally confused. I thought it was only a Shogun Assassin set announced so far. So are we talking original Japanese with this instead if dubs?

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 10th April 2012 01:42 PM

Great news about the Lone Wolf and Cub box set and the eclectic mix of titles Daemonia posted. I'm not sure whether to import The Sting or wait for the Universal 100th Anniversary Edition.

I can think of one word to say back to him. It begins with a 'c' and he doesn't like it.

Appears to be.

I'm waiting patiently for further specs, but I'm quietly optimistic at the moment...

Hopefully. I hadn't planned on the Shogun box set. I watched the SA recently and it's now just a bit of a curio when compared to the originals.

I think I'll stick with the UK Steelbook, though, was only judging from that image, the Digibook is pretty impressive.

Pete 13th April 2012 12:37 AM

Another one Olive Films:

the blob 13th April 2012 12:53 AM

That's an inspiring selection... :)

May get New York Stories though seeing as it'll no doubt be about £5 from Mill Creek.

Stephen@Cult Labs 13th April 2012 01:27 AM

Definitely getting Terminal Velocity.

Perhaps I better order the 2-disc Zombie incase it gets discontinued.

I think it's s fun flick too. Must have seen if four or five times. One-liners are great and the action is superb. Yes it's corny but it's a blast, IMO.

Where did you find this out? According to a post on another forum 4 weeks ago, AnimEgio says there's a possiblity that the original films might come out on BD???

Baseball Fury 13th April 2012 09:27 AM

I didn't realise Maniac was 2 discs?! I've had it for 15 months, haha

Was planning on picking up Zombie after my birthday, but going to get Maniac too now.

Not announced with the rest of their upcoming schedule but according to Raro's Facebook page, Di Leo's Shoot First, Die Later is coming in June, US and Italy.

I hadn't come across Fernando Di Leo's films until I picked up his Italian Crime Collection set on the basis of the Almost Human DVD release and now want as many as are released.

A couple of out of left-field titles from Redemption/Kino on July 17th:

THE BLOOD BEAST TERROR: Amazon.com: The Blood Beast Terror (Remastered Edition) [Blu-ray]: Peter Cushing, Robert Flemyng, Vernon Sewell: Movies & TV

The Blood Beast Terror is great! Wanda Ventham as a giant blood-sucking moth - what more do you want? Bah! You people are never happy.

(Although I seriously really do like the film - but that could just be some nostalgic connection thing going on)

Seconded. There's certainly stuff coming out that I hadn't expected on the format quite so soon (if at all, if I'm quite honest).

But where's all the Franco? At least me and Pete would be interested. Anyone else? *turns to an empty room*

bgart13 17th April 2012 01:25 AM

Since some of the Redemptions appear to be some of the old Image Euroshock series, I'm hoping we get some of the Orlof movies, in addition to VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD, ZEDER, etc. Now, I do know from someone involved with these releases a little that they will definitely be doing some Francos, but I do not know which or when...

EscapedLunatic 17th April 2012 05:53 AM

A virgin among the living dead would be great. One of my favorite franco. I hope these redemption titles sell well so we will see them all released.

I'm in the fortunate position of having seen neither, so will buy them 'blind' and watch them with a completely open mind.

Like you, I think it's great for such a variety of movies to be released in high definition.
