Of course, but not as much as "the West" though ;)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st October 2010 08:32 PM

Love West too.But we'll just need to agree to disagree on that one.;)

Warner's BD's are all region free,aren't they?:pray::pray:

I'm pretty sure they are, never know if they will start doing it with newer titles, back catalogue are ok though (well, the ones I have are anyway, got to cover myself) ;)

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st October 2010 08:44 PM

Good news Tanz.
I'm sure an older title like America will be.

the blob 21st October 2010 08:45 PM

I think some of the New Line stuff has been locked but I'm pretty sure all the regular Warner releases are Region Free..

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 21st October 2010 08:50 PM

I'm sure a Region B release will follow not long after if it is locked.
I'm an impatient bastard though....

Haven't watched it since getting rid of my CDA boxset a good while ago.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 21st October 2010 10:07 PM

Thankfully, region coding isn't an issue for me as I have two Blu-ray players -- one Region B and the other Region A. Troll 2 and Once Upon a Time in America are just two of the titles that I will be adding to my collection.

Is Plan 9 from Outer Space being released as well?!

Seriously, that really is the king of 'so bad they're good' movies but Troll 2 is one of those films that you watch and just can't believe that:
a) It was made in the first place and
b) What the cast and crew were thinking during the shoot

Philleh 1st November 2010 11:11 AM

Bill Lustig has stated that Blue Underground will be releasing Zombie FLesh Eaters on Blu-ray! :woot:

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 1st November 2010 11:58 AM

As an addendum to Philleh's post above:

Quote:

In an interview with AVManiacs.com/The Cinefiles, William Lustig, president of Blue Underground and director of Maniac and Vigilante, revealed some titles coming up on Blu-ray from the independent label. They include Lucio Fulci's Zombie and House by the Cemetery, and three Dario Argento Films: Cat O'Nine Tails, Inferno and Deep Red.

These releases will benefit from brand-new 2K transfers and new special features.

However, Lustig confirmed that Blue Underground wouldn't be releasing Suspiria, as the studio doesn't own the rights to that Argento title.

Lustig also speaks about how he got into the film industry, the films he directed that he's most and least proud of, and the future of the home entertainment industry in general.
C'mon Arrow: Now's your chance to release HBTC on Blu before a multitude of UK fans buy the BU release instead! :poke:

Stephen@Cult Labs 1st November 2010 08:30 PM

Just read the news about these on another site. HBTC? Yes please!

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 1st November 2010 09:54 PM

Whilst not Fulci's best, that would be a really cool release.

Damn. Looks like I've gotta buy a 3D TV and 3D blu-ray player. ;)

Dawn Of The Dead Inklusive 3 D-Version & extended Cut Blu Ray Blu-ray: Amazon.de: Tom Savini, David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, Gaylen Ross, David Early, George A. Romero: DVD & Blu-ray

Edit : Maybe not, the reviews state that the 3D version is cut. :(

I hope those rumours are true as they would be two excellent releases.

Stephen@Cult Labs 6th November 2010 07:56 PM

Hearing that Zombie 2/Zombie/Zombie Flesh Eaters will be released on BD in 2011 by Blue Underground, I can't help but think that this would have been a great opportunity for Arrow to get in on another co-remaster like COTLD (especially with the rights holder asking for a small fortune for the anyone who wants to release it) I would have liked to have seen what extras (different from BU) that Calum, Naomi and Nick could conjure up for us (see if they could top the 97 min documentary from the Shriek Show disc). At the very least we could have had the classic UK artwork somwhere on there.

Nosferatu@Cult Labs 6th November 2010 08:08 PM

Well said -- I echo those sentiments completely and would imagine that the guys at High Rise Productions would have really enjoyed making all the supplementary material for a release like that.

nekromantik 6th November 2010 09:55 PM

anyone getting the Criterion Videodrome blu?
Its around £21 from Movietyme and Axel music.

I love it but not sure if its worth that much.

I'm going to wait to see if the price drops as I'm not going to get hit by Customs and pay way over the odds for a BD of a film I have on DVD that actually hasn't had as many spins in the DVD player as it deserves.

you wont get stung by customs from axel or movietyme. :)

plus as its Criterion it wont drop anytime soon. $35 is usual price and B&N have a Criterion sale every year around this time just like this year but then it wud still be $20 plus shipping which would put it at £19 plus customs risk as they are not customs friendly.

you getting from Movietyme or Axel or somewhere else?

Im getting a bluray drive for PC next week as early xmas gift so can buy region A blu's now :)

the blob 6th November 2010 11:44 PM

I'll be getting Videodrome sometime along with the other Criterions I want but it'll have to wait for now. Price definitely won't drop on it and actually, £21 is very favourable to in-store prices in the States at the current exchange rate, unless it's the Barnes and Noble sale.
