I Sky+ed Freddy Vs Jason last night as I haven't seen it in years. Will be interesting to see what I make of if this time round. I agree with Nos about Friday 13th - the first three make a really solid slasher trilogy. All goes a bit pear-shaped after that.
shame they cut JASON X, as it was a fun film really, a stalk n slasher in space
i thought FREDDY VS JASON was a forgettable film, probably why Fangoria mag didn't nominate it for their best horror of the year as they said there was nothing really interesting about the long awaited film
years
enjoyed 3,4,5 but never seen F13 part 2 or NEW BLOOD, the most cut film out of the franchise,
MANHATTAN was a big bore

Was Jason X cut by the BBFC or the studio?

The film-makers had to lose footage to avoid an NC-17.

The US R-rated version was released uncut as a 15 here.

the US has a crazy ratings system, you know if a film isn't an R and unrated NC17 it doesn't get publicity and not shown in so many cinemas
JASON X over here as you know is a 15 and would still be if uncut
madness

Thats strange though as New Line own Jason X and they dont shy away from gore so why not release it uncut. The First 8 flicks are Paramount and their "family friendly" rep is the reason why they refuse to release them uncut even though the material is lying in their vaults.

Not much was removed on Jason X

I watched Jason X in the cinema when it was just released and thought it was silly at the time.
