I watched this version of AG not long ago too reaps, and I totally agree about the quality of the print. Crystal clear it was. In fact I don't think I've come across a bad Raro print yet...

I picked the unsubbed Five Days of Milan Italian DVD last year in record store in Rome, just to have it to complete my Argento collection (which in fairness is far from complete, I have nothing past Opera). I actually did sit down and watch it and despite watching a film in another language without subs is something of a mission, I thought Le Cinque Giornate was a pretty good film, full of style and invention. I would guess that Argento was inspired a little by A Clockwork Orange, the film does have the same kind of loose freewheeling engery as the first half of Kubrick's film. Why this one never still remains missing-in-action is a mystery - the idea that the film is too parochial doesn't convince me - I mean, international audiences don't have a problem with Visconti's The Leopard. Hopefully it will get a full English language release some day...

Make sure you watch the re-edited version.
Took me about 15 mins to figure out which one was the "original intended" version.
i ended up watching the tamer version because for some reason raro had placed the disc art the wrong way around!
