I'm a big Reeves fan, love the energy that he puts in to his nihilistic, misanthropic world view.

The attached pics are of the tie in, re-release of the novel "Witchfinder General" and an occult/art/psychogeographic project by English Heretic who released this box set of two cds and two booklets about Reeves and "Witchfinder General" a few years ago. The music on the cds, is folk with added drone with samples of dialogue from both "Witchfinder General" and "The Devil Rides Out".

Did anyone catch This cool radio play about the making of 'Witchfinder General'

By Matthew Broughton. In 1967, Vincent Price came to the UK to make the horror movie Witchfinder General. It was the best performance of his career, and the worst few months of his life. This play takes a light-hearted look behind the scenes of the making of this classic British film.

Vincent Price ...... Nickolas Grace
Tony Tenser ...... Kenneth Cranham
Michael Reeves ...... Blake Ritson
Philip Waddilove ...... Richard Nichols
Hilary Dwyer ...... Phoebe Waller Bridge
Ian Ogilvy ...... Gareth Pierce
I caught this when it aired and thought it mighty fine.

Great thread. The man was a fantastic director.I have the three of his films, but Witchfinder General stands heads and shoulders above the other two.
A brutal and yet beautiful film.

It's worth getting the MGM Midnite Movies R1 DVD too, as it has some extras not on Odeon's new Blu-ray release.

I edited the Benjamin Halligan book on Michael Reeves for Manchester University Press...normally when I edit it's a chore but this one is a brilliant read & highly recommended

I have the novel, MTDS its a little more worn than yours it seems from the picture you posted, but still in good nick.

I picked it up at a charity shop years ago along with Dr Terror's House Of Horrors and all of Flemings James Bond paperbacks, all near mint.

Just ordered the new corrected (and English friendly) release of Castle of the Living Dead on French dvd.

Reeves co-wrote and even directed some of this (uncredited).
It has his name written all over...
Did I mention Christopher Lee and Donald Sutherland (in his first credited film role,he actually plays 3 parts!) are also in this one?

Cool

One thing about this thread, it has great possibilities of 'what if' regarding Reeves... So have a think about these.

'Silence of the Lambs' directed by Michael Reeves. 'Hellraiser' by Reeves or (and this made me smile when I thought of it) a big budget 'Bond' with Pierce Brosnan. Just imagine a real dark, violent Bond helmed by Reeves. Also imagine Hollywood execs faces watching it for the first time.
