Whats the view on this.
I've often wondered the same thing actually.

What type of film is it for a start?

Seems to be a Blaxploitation Vampire film.

From Wikipedia:

Ganja & Hess is a 1973 horror film directed by Bill Gunn and stars Marlene Clark and Duane Jones. The film follows the exploits of archaeologist Dr. Hess Green (Jones) who becomes a vampire after being stabbed by his intelligent, but unstable, assistant (Gunn) with an ancient cursed dagger. Green falls in love with his assistant's widow, Ganja (Clark), who learns Green's dark secret.

This film contains the only other lead role for Duane Jones, best known for starring in the 1968 film Night of the Living Dead (though he appeared in bit-parts in other movies). The film's extras included the postmodern novelist William Gaddis and his wife Judith Thompson.

The film was screened at the 1973 Cannes Film Festival. Spike Lee's 2014 film Da Sweet Blood of Jesus has been described as being "...a remake — at times scene for scene and shot for shot — of Ganja and Hess, playwright and filmmaker Bill Gunn’s landmark 1973 indie that used vampirism as an ingenious metaphor for black assimilation, white cultural imperialism and the hypocrisies of organized religion."

It sounds different to something like Blacula, being slightly more serious.

Great film dripping with the surreal with occult undertones. More of a character-driven drama than an exploitationer/horror film in many respects. I have the Kino BD and it looks really good. No reason to doubt that Eureka's won't look as good if not better.

At Rotten Tomatoes, it's described more as an art film than blaxploitation, and has an 83% 'fresh' rating.

1) The Girl Who Knew Too Much and Rabid Dogs / Kidnapped.

- Can somebody enlighten me: is Rabid Dogs / Kidnapped an important Bava film? I've never seen any version of it before.
- Both films: are last year's Arrow Video releases worth buying when you already own the US Anchor Bay DVDs?

2) Tenebrae. Is there a visible difference in PQ between Arrow's original release and the Steelbook / 2015 edition?
