https://ihorror.com/peter-dinklage-s...top-and-crazy/ Peter Dinklage Says That ‘The Toxic Avenger’ Reboot is Over-the-Top and Crazy In Troma We Trust Troma Entertainment and their catalogue of films is as vital as air is to some of us horror fans. The longest-running independent film studio of our time has given us some of the very best in gore and low-brow goodness. Their catalogue is long and varied. From Terror Firmer to Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead and everything in between. Troma does things in a way that is almost as distinct as a fingerprint. Troma’s big superhero – the face of Troma belongs to Toxie. This is of course the character from the original Toxic Avenger. The film that helped director, producer and Troma Entertainment co-founder, Lloyd Kaufman break into the world of long-lasting and memorable cult film. The Toxic Avenger spawned a few sequels and assisted in building house Troma. Now, all these years later. Macon Blair is taking over as director of a Toxic Avenger reboot with a gigantic cast of big name actors. The cast includes Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood, Jacob Tremblay and of course Peter Dinklage. Dinklage takes on the role of Toxie in this iteration of the film. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Dinklage talked about the Toxic Avenger reboot and let fans know that it is still going to be over-the-top and crazy. “It’s not a remake. I just like guerrilla filmmaking. Those movies, they just made them, no matter what.” Dinklage said. “They just did it because they love doing it. Some of them are not the best, but some are so much fun. When you make movies too clean, it can distance the audience. They want to feel the dirt under their fingernails. I think those Troma films definitely dipped the audience in toxic waste.” This is great news. No die hard Troma fans want to see this reboot step out of line or attempt to be something that isn’t true to Troma. The synopsis for Toxic Avenger 1986 goes like this: A 98-pound nerd (Mark Torgl) from New Jersey lands in a vat of toxic waste and becomes a benevolent monster (Mitchell Cohen). The Toxic Avenger reboot is produced by Micheal Herz and Lloyd Kaufman. It is being delivered via Legendary Pictures and Troma Entertainment |

https://bloody-disgusting.com/movie/...e-raid-netflix What’s worse than a remake that'll probably be bad? One made by Micheal bay. Great I’ll look forward to that… not. He sighs! Michael Bay Producing a Remake of Violent Indonesian Action Movie ‘The Raid’ for Netflix A planned remake of The Raid from director Joe Carnahan has recently morphed into a different project entirely, but another new take on the Indonesian fight film has now sprung up. Deadline reports that Michael Bay is on board to produce an American remake of The Raid for Netflix, with original director Gareth Evans also involved as executive producer. Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard) is directing, and he’ll also be co-writing the script with James Beaufort. Deadline reminds, “The original film was written and directed by Evans and followed an elite Indonesian S.W.A.T. team that becomes trapped in a tenement run by a ruthless mobster and his army of killers and thugs.” The 2011 movie received an Evans-directed sequel in 2014. The site adds, “This version is set in Philadelphia’s drug-infested ‘Badlands’, an elite undercover DEA task force climb a ladder of cartel informants to catch an elusive kingpin.” “We’re incredibly excited about Patrick’s unique vision for this film. It’s a distinctly original take on the material, which promises to pay great respect to the original film while also bringing a fresh approach and perspective that will set its course in the action genre,” the producers said in a statement shared by Deadline tonight.
