Looking at the trailer, this has got potential

"'Groundhog Day' meets 'Final Destination' in the upcoming horror film 'Happy Death Day'. Blumhouse ('Split', 'Get Out', 'Insidious') produces an original thriller, in which a college student relives the day of her murder with both its unexceptional details and terrifying end until she discovers her killer’s identity"

What I don't want, however, is it to actually be a slash-and-kill movie that jettisons the premise for a series of 'inventive' and repetitive murders

well if it's done by blumhouse, my expectations are kinda high
