I'm gonna try it on my parents' machine later.
I updated the firmware and this happened!

So now I'm stuck with a blu ray player that will only play Region 0/1 DVD's, but will play my blu rays the same as before (although I have no Region A blu rays to check if it plays them)

That's really bizarre... this is why I'm more of an advocator of having both a Region B and Region A machine: firmware proof!

Hopefully you'll manage to get it sorted somehow and play the disc. It's a fun, shlocky little slasher from Franco; not your typical Franco fare either. Silly, but lots of fun and definitely worth a watch.

I've needed a reason/excuse to buy a new player for awhile, so this is it!

I'm gonna try and find a cheap multi-region one, but for now all my Region 2 DVD's will have to go in the Xbox

Still didn't work, so I've emailed Severin to see if there's anything they can do before I attempt to return it to All Your Music, something which I'd rather not do seeing as it isn't their fault and obviously I've opened it now!

You should be able to make a claim through Amazon. I presume you ordered it from the marketplace.

Yeah, I'm gonna see what Severin have to say first, maybe there's a faulty batch out there.
I've never had to return anything from the marketplace before, let alone a US seller, so I don't know how it works with regards to postage etc

Edit: Just checked my emails and Severin have responded saying I need to contact the seller as they've had no reports of any faulty discs

You should be ok as it's within your right to a refund period.

Just tried my copy and it played fine in my PS3 and UK Blu Ray player so maybe you just got a bad one. I've bought a bit from All Your Music and never had a problem. Hope you get it sorted out. Let us know.
