Whilst British sex film fans were delighting themselves to the like of "Secrets of a Door to Door Salesman" in America, Shaun Costello's FORCED ENTRY was on a search and destroy mission deep into the groin and psyche of the nation. Mixing hardcore rape and murder scenes with real footage from 'Nam, Costello's story of a crazed Vietnam vet on the rampage is either an artistic stroke of genius or a cynical attempt at blitzing the viewer into a world of ultra sexual violence beyond redemption. Featuring a de-moustached Harry Reems, the rape/murder scenes are gruelling experiences particularly the second rape which is harsh, ugly and totally convincing. These scenes are all the more brutal due to the dialogue and the constant fish eyed lens shots of Reems' cock which is more of a blunt weapon than a part of his body. Of course, it all ends in tears as Harry freaks out after two hippy chicks are up for a little three way rape, something that sends him over the edge... So, if you wish to peel away another layer of your soul and again question why the hell you like cinematic extremes, give it ago. An unpleasant but vital experience in the cinema of scum. Highly recommended. |

Great review, MTDS - I'm looking forward to revisiting it along with Sex Wish as a double feature as you suggested earlier on in the thread. |

Blood Song (1982) A psychopath escapes from a mental asylum and goes on a killing rampage after having been locked up there for years as a consequence of witnessing his father kill his mother and then himself. This development is offset by a young handicapped girl who is seeing visions of all the grisly murders taking place, which we later discover is due to her receiving a blood transfusion and therefore the killer's 'bad blood', which now courses through her veins and enables her to 'see' what he sees (at certain choice intervals of course). So that handles the 'blood' element of the title. The 'song' aspect is covered by our psychopath's regular and eerily repetitive flute playing - a reminder of the father he barely knew who made it for him when he was a boy. Overall Blood Song is a fairly effective little foray into psychosis and slasherdom, albeit silly and a little muddled in places. |

Deliverance by the way of Planet of the Apes... Blood Stalkers (1978) Blood Stalkers is a backwoods horror about two couples who drive out to a hunting lodge and find the local hillbillies less than hospitable. Aside from the last 15 minutes or so, the film is a lacklustre, bloodless affair of tedium and drudgery. The backwoods 'hicks' are portrayed as cartoonish caricatures, who also don monkey suits in order to (poorly) imitate Sasquatches and frighten the couples. In addition to the inclusion of hillbillies playing dress-up, the director seems to go out of his way to stamp his mark on the film in other ways, also splicing in very long cutaway scenes of a church choir within the final act amongst the killings, which whilst seemingly aiming for a creative statement of contrasting the slaughter with that of joyous religious praise, instead comes across as random and sloppy filler. The score is also very odd and at times overly distracting, almost seeming to have been lifted from a cheesy '70s police show, and therefore not fitting the tone of the film at all. Despite the finale being fairly rewarding in the slaughter-stakes, it doesn't make up for the prior 75 minutes of yawn-inducing boredom. Ron would love it. |

I'm generally going through it in list order (alphabetically) unless I've either already seen it or can't access the film in question... plus there are a couple I've voluntarily skipped either due to quality issues or not feeling like watching them at the time. |
