Tell me about it.

I've narrowed my list down to 150. That was bad enough.

There are only four of Bizarre_Eye's top 20 in my list of 150.

That's interesting - I think we should work out which members have the most similar tastes in film and those that are least (film) compatible. I say I think we should, obviously I can't be bothered, someone that likes excel should.

I think if I studied my list too much I would be tweaking it all the time - I shouldn't have forgot The Tenant though! I don't think I'd know what to knock off but that would be in the top twenty. There are a few that nearly made it that I just couldn't decide on like Picnic at Hanging Rock, Let the Right One In, Valerie and Her Week of Wonders...it's just too hard.
I was exactly the same when making my list, as there are numerous perennial favourites, others which are fairly recent and could easily move up or down 10 places depending on when I watched them, my mood at the time and how recently I'd seen another which is close to it in the list.

Recent movies or recent watches pose a slight problem as the majority of my list i've seen 4 times minimum.

Something i've only seen once and thought was brilliant may not stand the test of time. Do they deserve a potential top hundred place on one sitting?

Film is like art for me - the brilliance (or not) is instantaneous and I often go off initial impact.

Lists like these will evolve anyway in time with re-watches and reappraisals etc.

We can also compare when I do next year's list!

That's why these lists can never be set in stone and will change many times per year.

I'm always intrigued whenever a recent film appears in the Sight & Sound critics list, and whether it will be there in the next poll (taken a decade later). Because some of the films have been mainstays for many years, that's why the great films are truly great.

Some great films there Dem, although quite a few that failed to make my Top 666 too!

That's not to say I don't like some of them though.
