Only Suspiria (no. 55) and Deep Red (no. 67) appear in my Top 100, although looking at my Top 666, Bird, Cat, Flies, Inferno, Opera, and Phenomena all feature.

Opera was Argento's last 'great' film in my opinion and whilst he made some decent efforts after that, most were stinkers.

You've coined a new phrase there.

I've just realized neither Frankenstein or Bride of Frankenstein are in my top 100.

I seem to have mentally blocked them out. Must watch them again and see where they fit in...if at all.

Both are in mine, with Bride of Frankenstein several places higher than Frankenstein.

As for Argento, even though I can never watch his films again for the first time when the killer's identity comes as a surprise, I still watch and marvel at the technical brilliance of, for example, the opening credits of Four Flies on Grey Velvet, something which I find enjoyable.

I gave them a rewatch last night.

I can't separate them as they are basically Shelley's novel in the format of two films.

Viewed back to back it's just one two and a half hour film.

I'd need to watch them back-to-back to see if I come to the same conclusion as you, but I prefer Bride because of its twisted humour and Dr Pretorius with his many weaknesses (gin and cigars), homunculi in jars and banter with Henry ("You think I'm mad? Perhaps I am!") and even the Monster.

Bride is just simply Thesiger's film. When he first appears at the door etc etc.

Just a wee reminder that I'm going to start compiling the master list some time next week (if all goes to plan), so anyone who wants to post a list or amend an already submitted one please can you do so soon!

I'm just finalizing mine as we speak.

I just thought of this thread earlier today realizing i hadn't finished my top 100.

I would say great minds think alike... but it's us.
