I've never seen Threads, but as I've been living and working in Sheffield for the past three weeks, maybe now would be a good time to seek it out . . .

It's definitely worth it. It's usually fairly cheap to pick up. I was only two when it was first on TV, it's a quality drama, something I think TV is lacking these days. I might be just nostalgic but didn't TV used to be better? Anthology shows, play for today, etc. Threads is a classic.

THREADS is well worth picking up....however don't expect any happiness from it! I urge fans of British obscurities to pick up BFI's SLEEPWALKER. At only 50-odd minutes it's well worth an hour of anyone's time.

Anyone seen Corruption yet, the Peter Cushing film Grindhouse put out ? The more I delve into this film the more I want to grab the Blu. The reviews have been positive but wanted to hear some word from the Board...

I watched the Network dvd of The Terror last week. A nice slice of Edgar Wallace mystery with added Gothic horror. A bit talky in places but its a decent example of British horror from an era where we are starved of it on dvd. |

I saw it a couple of years ago Wes - I like it, but I think I'm in the minority. It's a dirty, grimy film - more like a Euro exploitation picture than the usual British horror, and certainly not the usual role you'd expect PC to be playing...

Cushing wasn't keen on it. It is supposed to be quite good however, unlike Blood beast terror that was very poorly written and realized corruption was trashy but entertaining. I suspect it was the sleaziness and violence he was opposed to with this one. It's a really difficult film to track down, i'm not aware of a DVD release but it was available on VHS. Personally i'm really looking forward to getting it!

Was thinking of picking up the Ealing Rarities series.
