In other John Carpenter news, it seems that the night I was going to see him in Manchester he is now playing in a smaller venue in Liverpool! Contacted customer services to get them to swap my ticket to the that one instead, as long as they say yes and do it I'll be happy!

New Tour Dates, tickets on sale tomorrow at 9:00am

20th Oct - Brighton Dome
22nd Oct - Edinburgh Usher Hall
28th Oct - Liverpool Olympia
29th Oct - Manchester Victoria Warehouse
1st Nov - London Troxy

Jean-Michel Jarre in collaboration with John Carpenter. Taken from the "Electronica 1: The Time Machine" album

I found out too late that John Carpenter was coming to my town. Tickets weren't sold out, but they had become very pricey in the $300 range. So I had to give up on seeing him this time. His youtube videos rock, though. I hope he'll do another tour and if so I'll buy tickets to more than one show well in advance.

Default Assault on Precinct 13

Just watched Carpenters Assault on Precinct 13 on blu ray,and was so impressed with not just the PQ which I have to say was pretty damn good, but the overall style and feel of the film was amazing,it just has that gritty 1970's feel you do not get any-more (obviously) I also watched the remake the previous night, while not a bad movie just did not get anywhere near the original films genius,it felt more like those 90's films Trespass and Judgement Night.
It had been a while since I had watched the original Assault but its now pretty high on my films to re-watch when im surrounded in a siege.

My sentiments exactly, Inspector. Along with Walter Hill's The Warriors, it doesn't get much better where stylish but gritty '70s films are concerned in my opinion.

I eagerly await Second Sight's upcoming Blu of Assault.

Definitely original theatrical cut for me - I'm not at all a fan of the comic book style 'change-overs' that Hill spliced in.

However, I can still watch and enjoy the DC.
