Watched this one this morning (Got me doing the night shift at work tonight!) and have to say I absolutely flippin' loved it! Great turns from all the cast and the soundtrack has been seared into my already messed up mind! Who needs a spliff when you can have 'A one-a one a two-a two a buda-buda-bubb-bubb-bubba bah!!!

I mean, I know the genre, but it was deathly slow, Lenzi is better off doing his more off the wall rubbish like Nightmare City etc.

I confess i only really picked up OOF for it's rarity and any collectable value the Shameless DVD may have. I've no intention of unwrapping my copy and it's staying in storage. Gimme NC anyday!

You're missing out on a really good film.

Absolutely. Oasis Of Fear is a superb film and one of the very best quality pieces of cinema Shameless have released. This era was by far Lenzi's best work and it craps from a great height on the rubbish he made in the 80s - even fun rubbish like Nightmare Beach.

I much prefer Lenzi's gialli (Seven Blood Stained Orchids, Spasmo, Oasis of Fear) to his later, more trashy efforts like Cannibal Ferox and Nightmare City.

He was a real master of the giallo genre and often gets forgotten amongst the other heavy hitters, such as Argento, Bava, Martino etc.

I'd love to see some more Lenzi gialli make it on to the Shameless label.
trench, Pete and Demdike@Cult Labs like this.

I'd say my favourite Lenzi movies are THE CYNIC, THE RAT AND THE FIST, SEVEN BLOODSTAINED ORCHIDS, OASIS OF FEAR and EYEBALL. Like Gojirosan says NIGHTMARE BEACH is also a lot of fun, although it's nowhere near as good as the above.

My least favourite are BLACK DEMONS, HELL'S GATE and HOUSE OF WITCHCRAFT.
