apparently this was made as a TV Pilot but never got broadcast because it was deemed too scary. it was then reworked by UA as a feature. directed by George Stevens of Alfred Hitchcock Presents fame. the BR will apparently include the pilot version titled The Haunted as well.

it looks like this has been cancelled by Kino but a few have gotten out the door. it looks if you managed to snag a copy of the bluray you might have something worth a lotta money. having said that wowhd and importcds still have the DVD listed.

in better news Kino have recently listed this TV Movie - its not one that I recognise from the synopsis but a good cast.

problem with Kino's Outer Limits Season 2 - see below. i guess its unlikely they will replace overseas discs but if you haven't bought yet probably best to hold off until problem solved.

Dear valued Kino Lorber customer,

We are currently in the process of obtaining a new master of the OUTER LIMITS episode “Soldier” which has slightly distorted audio during ten minutes of the episode. We will be repressing this disc so that future pressings of THE OUTER LIMITS Season Two will have the corrected audio. If you have purchased a disc with the problematic audio and would like to receive a replacement, please do the following:

1) Send an e-mail to kino@bellsouth.net

2) Write “OUTER LIMITS Recall” in the Subject Line

3) In the body of the e-mail, provide your name and mailing address; and indicate whether you purchased the DVD or Blu-ray edition.

It will likely be early 2019 when the replacement discs are mailed (due to the manufacturing slow-down during the holiday season).

Thank you for your understanding and your continued support of Kino Lorber Studio Classics.

Is the Kino Trilogy of Terror truly region locked? Or are they a bit like code red & just put A on the back when really it's not?

Paul@TheOverlook 21st February 2019 06:12 AM

They're locked.

Demoncrat will be proud, I've taken a bite of The Apple and it's currently on it's way via WowHD as its price dropped below the VAT threshold! I absolutely can't wait to watch it and be amazed!

I have the Kino DVD version of this. Looks great and has all the extras if you want to go down the DVD route.
I am well pleased with it.

"“It’s time to feed the baby.” Some exciting news from Kino Lorber Studio Classics – later this year, they’ll be giving Alain Robak’s French splatter classic BABY BLOOD (1990) its Blu debut!

Hoping to boost attendance with the purchase of a new leopard, a traveling carnival is dismayed to find its freshest attraction deceased the next morning. However, the cat was host to a peculiar parasite, one that frees itself only to slither its way into the uterus of abused circus wife Yanka. Patiently gestating, the creature gives her the confidence to leave – but it also needs fresh blood to survive. As the pair develop a bond, Yanka wonders how far she’ll go to ensure her baby’s well-being. And what exactly is growing inside of her?

With its inquisitive, darkly humorous fetus (reportedly voiced by fan Gary Oldman in the English version) and paint-the-walls-red bloodshed, BABY BLOOD was a gleefully gruesome breath of fresh air, replete with arterial sprays, crushed skulls and bodies exploded via excessive aeration.

Seemingly coming out of nowhere when it hit tape (slightly edited) as THE EVIL WITHIN, the film managed to find some traction with gorehounds, but never quite grew the cult it deserved – even when Anchor Bay issued it on DVD in 2006.

Now years later, Kino have acquired the title as part of their massive deal with StudioCanal; hopefully its HD upgrade will attract a larger audience willing to embraces its feral charms."

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 30th March 2019 08:47 AM

Baby Blood is a great film. A nice coup by Kino.

I’d imagine some of them (especially the world cinema classics (by big directors like Melville and Tavernier) would be titles that are undergoing restoration for release in the UK by Studiocanal itself.

There's only titles announced on Network's site for the next six weeks so who knows what will come in the future. Sure to be some of these seeing as they've released several already.

No, only that they have them. i suspect they'll trickle out over the months and years that the deal is in place.

EDIT: given that the list doesn't appear to include SC's tentpole horror/scifi titles there is perhaps hope they will get the 4K John Carpenter treatment in the future and released by SC themselves.

Roll on SLAYGOUND!

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 2nd April 2019 08:28 PM

Others to look forward to include:

AND SOON THE DARKNESS - 1970 - ROBERT FUEST
BRITANNIA HOSPITAL - 1982 - LINDSAY ANDERSON
CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE - 1980 - ANTONIO MARGHERITI
PARASITE - 1982 - CHARLES BAND

And Soon the Darkness and Baby Blood are probably my two most wanted from that list. Plenty of other great titles though.

Hopefully Network releases Link over here.

According to Tim Lucas there will be no extras on Lost Highway even though he recorded a commentary. That's disappointing cos it's my favourite Lynch film.
