I met him years ago.
Rollerball and Star Wars were the films before Force 10, but he never mentioned Star Wars.

The whole of the Force 10 From Navarone release is excellent as is The Beast Must Die release.

Re-watched the interviews with the behind the scenes guys and their crazy hotel in Yugoslavia. Great to hear these raw and funny stories of life behind the camera.

My copy arrived on Monday. Pleased about that. One of the films i seemingly grew up with, love it. No way was i going to miss out on the limited edition despite the fact i can't play it.

As to not having a Blu player.

I thought your argument against getting one was that you would end up spending loads on Blu rays, but if you are buying them anyway then the reasoning doesn't make sense anymore Dem.

Confused.com

It's like Gag moaning about new films being crap, then buying a load of great old films like Mad Max and not watching them. ;)

:behindsofa:

I think as we get older people just like having something to moan about.:wise:

Why does refusal to miss out on a limited edition of a film i love confuse you?

It's not like i'm buying any old shit that comes out. I've bought Force Ten from Navarone, Night of the Demon and The Haunted House of Horrors as limited editions.

My argument against getting one has always been that my dvd player is still going strong so i won't replace it until i need to. It's always been that. I've said it on here dozens of times.

Who's moaning by the way?

Fair enough, i thought you'd picked up a lot more than that.;)

I probably wouldn't have bothered getting a Blu player as soon, but it was on my PS3 so i got dragged in.

Once i was buying blu's then i ended up looking for non UK discs and had to get a multi region job.

It's a snowball effect.

I've bought a lot of dual format releases but that's not the same thing. Have over a hundred of those buggers.

Also i'm generally quite happy with a good quality dvd and still buy quite a few, it's just there's so much interesting stuff coming out that's only on Blu.:pop2:

Ah but I did buy them and watch them, first two are good, 3rd was rubbish and didn't have anything to do with the original idea etc, and road fury was terrible and a fine eg of how films are today, very little redeeming features in plot etc ott ridiculous Micheal Bay shite, bolder brash bigger and but not neccesary better, look at first 2 then last one and there no comparison and that's exactly why I complain so much about today's films.

nosferatu42 2nd July 2020 03:25 PM

Yap i did notice you'd watched them, great timing.

I saw the first one on Vhs first and loved it, i still really like it and it has some great scenes but pales in comparison to the second, which was one of the best things ever as a kid.:woot:

I agree the third is a step down but i still find it watchable due to the thunderdome parts, it was more of a mainstream version though i feel to make money.

I really like Fury road, it is just a mad wacky races job, but i appreciate the real stunt work and although the story is not very complicated neither were the other Max films and i think it is a decent modern version and feels closer in tone to Max 2 which was always my favourite.:pop2:
