WARNER PREMIUM COLLECTION are releasing some pretty impressive titles.

Put your suggestions on here and discuss......

Hopefully someone from WHV will notice and maybe pay attention!

Other Warner titles I'd like to see with this treatment and original art of course:

THE DEVILS

A CLOCKWORK ORANGE with original inflammatory tagline....

ENTER THE DRAGON without that 'blurry' modification to the artwork

BLADE RUNNER let's face it,The Final Cut artwork was shite.Original is classic.

WOLFEN iconic art!

RISKY BUSINESS-'Sussies' hooker on Porsche, not the PC friendly hooker in leggings....

LENNY with classic 'silhouette' artwork

AFTER HOURS

ALTERED STATES

THE EXORCIST-With original 'yellow' or 'silhouette' artwork

DIRTY HARRY-Original artwork is legendary!

FULL METAL JACKET

GREMLINS as Stephen said.....

HEARTBREAK RIDGE,TIGHTROPE,FIREFOX,OUTLAW JOSEY WALES,SUDDEN IMPACT,THE ENFORCER,MAGNUM FORCE,THE DEAD POOL

IT'S ALIVE!

KLUTE

THE LOST BOYS

LEGEND OF THE SEVEN GOLDEN VAMPIRES

MAD MAX

MAD MAX 2

NATIONAL LAMPOONS VACATION/EUROPEAN VACATION

OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN

PALE RIDER

THE RIGHT STUFF

SHARKY'S MACHINE

ST IVES

SUPERFLY

THE SWARM

TEQUILA SUNRISE

TROG

mr 420 11th January 2017 08:48 PM

I'll add Rollerball, Outland and Galaxy of Terror to the list.

mr 420 11th January 2017 09:18 PM

Actually there are probably at least another twenty that I could add to the list.

Demdike@Cult Labs 11th January 2017 09:19 PM

Is there a link to the Premium Collection anywhere?

The Reaper Man@Cult Labs 11th January 2017 09:23 PM

Look at that amazing artwork above!
This 'photoshop' artwork culture is absolute garbage.
What's more eyecatching on a shelf?

Yeah,Outland.

I'm sure Galaxy of Terror and Rollerball were MGM/United Artist-owned titles mate, and I've tried to leave them out. ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Premium Collection solely consists of discs that were previously US-only finally getting a UK release: Gremlins 2, King Kong, the extended version of The Shining, etc. So as much as I'd love to see Blade Runner as part of the collection with John Alvin's gorgeous artwork, I can't see it happening. It's already had about a billion different re-issues in the UK.

Kudos on Ken Russell's Altered States, though. Warners released it in the States in 2012 so I could definitely see it being part of the collection in the future.

Yes, this is what I thought too.

Therefore it would be nice to see House of Wax and Hammer's Dracula Has Risen from the Grave and Taste the Blood of Dracula join the collection.

Forbidden Planet already had a UK release before the Premium Collection release

Here are one or two:
Son of Kong
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939)
The Picture of Dorian Gray
Mighty Joe Young
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms
Alone in the Dark (1967)
Doc Savage
Time After Time
Ladyhawke

I think these have all had at least a US release.

Rob4 12th January 2017 02:35 PM

more:

The Time Machine
The Haunting
Westworld
Exorcist II: The Heretic
Salem’s Lot
Excalibur

That would be nice as my understanding is that the US blu-ray is out of print and is now quite expensive to acquire.

What about Star 80?

Rob4 13th January 2017 01:22 PM

is it known whether the Premium releases are limited or not as i've been holding out for a 5 for £30 offer from HMV.

I think they will be, yes.

Whether they'll get a general release (perhaps minus the slipcovers) afterwards remains to be seen, although I can't see HMV having sole control over these forever.

Many of them are in HMV's 3 for £25 if you're interested.

thanks, i knew about the 3 for £25 but i've owned all these titles on DVD so i'm trying to upgrade for the minimum amount. don't want to be too cautious though and miss out.

Dem, can you stick the scene up, as I'm on my phone at the moment. Thanks, buddy.

some more titles in this range:

bizarre_eye@Cult Labs 3rd March 2017 09:59 AM

Pre-ordered The Hunger and Performance last night.

This line has started to get a lot more interesting to me.

Justin101 3rd March 2017 10:03 AM

Has The Hunger been out in the UK, or was it one of the Warner Archive ones in the USA?

It has only been released in the US on Blu as part of their Archive Collection before now.

I had the Warners 'Terrorvision' VHS in the 90s and I've not seen it since. I'll be picking up this time.

I have the UK DVD but haven't watched it in a while - looking forward to checking it out in HD.

It's probably my favourite Tony Scott film. I really like the TV series too.

Yeah, these are the two that have piqued my interest. Just ordered both myself.

Will I be banned from Cult Labs if I admit that I haven't seen a single film from this collection except for The Shining, Logan's Run and Little Shop of Horrors? If so then I won't admit that and there's nothing to see here, move along!

Not all, I keep hoping they'll announce something that's a bit more exciting but it's mostly not.

Paul@TheOverlook 6th March 2017 07:39 PM

PERFORMANCE is a cause for celebration given that WB has rectified the dubbing issue that spoiled the US disc - the film is a bona fide cult classic.

What I find really bizarre is that stuff like this an THE HUNGER would cause a splash among the sycophantic label collector's if they were to be announced by the likes of Arrow but they fail to register because they're issued by one of the majors - it's really bizarre :D

100% agree.

King Kong, Logan's Run, The Hunger, Jason and the Argonauts, Excalibur, Robin Hood, Soylent Green, The Omega Man - all extremely worthwhile releases in my opinion.

And yes, Jamiouse, exciting!

I don't know really, maybe a bit more horror and less studio classics. Gremlins 2 and Little Shop are the only two that have caught my interest so far. Do Warner have the UK rights to A Quiet Place in the Country and Blow Up because they'd really interest me. I'm not saying the titles put out so far are bad they just don't personally interest me, like Little Shop and Gremlins 2.

i believe Quiet Place... is United Artists and there are usable element issues with the title. Isn't Blow Up coming from Criterion?
