Thanks very much, B.

Hmmm....I suppose I could always zoom in 16:9 on my telly to see what it would look like in that ratio...I would like the stand alone release though. It's very expensive now though.

Here's the blog of these guys :

moon town

"What started as simple video reviews for Amazon turned into this blog. Once Amazon blocked one of our reviews (unknown comic) it was time to switch it up. Right now the focus has been the dvd releases from the company Code Red.

First I was skeptical too about their releases, but so far they have been living up to the reputation of “criterion collection of grindhouse/horror/exploitation genre films”. Since these films have been largely under reviewed I thought it’d be nice to put some more out there. Especially since most people looking for these films actually saw them in a drive-in or on VHS when they were originally released.

For someone younger who really enjoys film I’m hesistant to buy films without having seen them first. Most of these say specifically “not for rent, home use only”. So you basically have to buy them based on what’s available to read online. These films are very unique and deserve more exposure for sure.

The review style that is tackled on this blog is not supposed to be “professional” or your typical movie review blog. I wanted to put the type of real life reviews that most people actually use more frequently. I mean think of any film that just came out whether it’s Hangover 2 or Cave of Forgotten Dreams if you know someone that watched it you’re gonna ask: “so what’d you think?”. You’re not looking for a long winded analyzation of what worked and what didn’t when it came to these films. You just want someone’s perspective on the films because you’re thinking of spending money to see them.

That’s what this blog is to me. I really enjoy to hear someone’s take on a film, because everyone sees the same film differently. Like I said this blog kind of focuses on Code Red releases right now, but the focus will be changing over time. " (Thom)

"This is the re-issue of the original BCI release, but with a new cover, so those who missed out on it the first time, here is your chance to own it! BCI and CODE RED is proud to present a re-issue for a lower price At the MSRP of 14.98!"

Coming August 2nd

Julie Darling (1983)

Starring:Anthony Franciosa, Sybil Danning, Isabelle Mejias

Some Imdb quotes...

"A minor gem, this underrated horror/thriller deserves reinvestigation. Briskly paced, and with better acting than you'll usually find in most B-minus pictures, JULIE DARLING is one to keep your eyes peeled for." (nostrilingus)

"Creepy, effective thriller" (gridoon)

"A disturbing and brilliantly entertaining 'Bad Seed' style thriller!" (The_Void)

"Deeply Twisted" (Steve Nyland (Squonkamatic))

Julie Darling is reported to be shipping!

And Axel just added Godfather Squad / Bruce's Last Battle!

"Godfather Squad:
Originally released by Cannon Pictures in 1977, this martial arts film features Bruce Leung as a martial arts action hero whom the mob wants dead for interfering in an assassination. The "dynamite dog" scene cannot be missed!

Bruce's Last Battle:
What happens when people are out of ideas and product to sell? They put together pieces of several kung-fu films starring Bruce Le (Lu Chien Kung) and call it Bruce's Last Battle! We see Bruce killed by Five Fingers Of Death's Lo Lieh all over again, as well as Bruce fighting villain after villain - it is non-stop madness!"
