I just hope it's something good. With the exception of Demons (which was supposed to come out back in 1865) I haven't been excited about an Arrow Video release since Maniac Cop was announced, nearly a year ago. It's all been a bit lacklustre, with people on here clamouring for titles like ZFE, The Burning, The Video Dead, The Keep, NOTLD etc etc that never come (ZFE excluded). Hopefully it'll be something that will blow peoples pants off, but I'm just expecting upgrades of old Arrow releases rather than anything major.

I think I'm just getting a bit Arrow jaded.

Oh come on! Of course, Demons was intended as a comedy!

Both of them!

You'll be trying to claim the first Evil Dead wasn't a comedy next!

Your saying it ISN'T?
I'm sure it wasn't funny for any undead viewers or oat based organisms.

Default new releases

I'd be happy if arrow would just refund me the money I spent on maniac cop and the funhouse. Those two movies just don't do it for me. If arrow are gonna release something big, will they just come out and announce it. All this hype and it'll probably be all for nothing.

I'm wondering if the two DVDs are going to be ZFE sequels. If CornerStone's license for ZFE has expired, I imagine the sequels have too. I can see Arrow negotiating them as a whole (and boxset re-releases would aid in recouping costs). They're not really releases I can see heading for Blu-ray either, personally. Wouldn't complain if they did.

I'd prefer a nice obscure slasher from the 80's though. Why am I speculating >< I said I wouldn't.

The Evil Dead is a horror film with some tongue-in-cheek moments and knowing winks to hard-core horror fans, whereas Evil Dead 2 is a pure horror-comedy.
