Default Weekly Comp - The Beast Stalker - 18/12/09

Hey there!

We've got a great prize this week for all you fans of Asian cinema (in particular action thrillers), for the prize this week is The Beast Stalker!

Title: The Beast Stalker
Label: Cine Asia
Release date: 4th January 2010
Certificate: 15
Running time:
Price: 17.99
Director: Dante Lam
Stars: Nicholas Tse, Jingchu Zhang, Nick Cheung

"GRIPS LIKE A VICE FROM ITS OPENING REEL." - VARIETY

Directed and co-written by Dante Lam (The Twins Effect) and starring Nicholas Tse (Dragon Tiger Gate; New Police Story; The Medallion) and Jingchu Zhang (Rush Hour 3; Seven Swords), the intense, hyper-kinetic crime thriller THE BEAST STALKER comes to DVD in January 2010 as a two-disc Ultimate Collector's Edition that fans of hard-boiled action cinema will not want to miss.

Tse stars as Sergeant Tong, a tough and uncompromising Hong Kong detective willing to put everything on the line in the pursuit of the city's most dangerous underworld kingpin, Cheung Yat-tung (Philip Keung). However, on the day he manages to apprehend his target a fateful car crash sparks a tragic chain of events that begins with Tong accidentally killing the eldest daughter of Ann Gao (Zhang), the public prosecutor in charge of handling the case against Cheung.

Just as Cheung is about to stand trial, Ann's younger daughter is kidnapped by a relentless contract killer, Hung (Nick Cheung), a man also familiar with tragedy and who has been blackmailed into taking on the job by Cheung's henchmen. Still devastated by recent events, Tong, against Ann's wishes, determines to seek out Hung and rescue the young girl in an attempt to find some kind of redemption amidst the chaos of his shattered life.

A pulse-pounding thriller with plenty of emotional kick, THE BEAST STALKER is a gripping ride that features one of the most stunning cinematic car chases seen in recent years and an awesome and ultimately significant crash sequence delivering a final twist that will leave audiences breathless.

The two-disc THE BEAST STALKER (cert. 15) will be released on DVD (17.99) by Cine Asia on 4th January 2010.

Special Features include: Behind The Scenes (The Car Chase; Scaling The Sign; The Street Chase; Little Actors); Making Of; Interview Gallery (Nicholas Tse; Jingchu Zhang; Nick Cheung; Dante Lam); extended/alternate scenes; trailer gallery; Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 Cantonese and 5.1 English audio options; optional English subtitles.

Check out the teaser here to wet your appertites...

Now c'mon how cool does that look! The car sequences are incredible!

But how to win it?

Well, since it's only one week until Christmas (AHHHH!) and two weeks until the end of the decade (AHHH!) I thought I'd have that as this week's theme. So, below are 5 presents wrapped up by dear Mr. Clause and his over-worked and under-paid elves Each of them belong to a character from a film of this decade. All you have to do is PM your guesses of what present is for what film.

There are no limits to guesses and I'll offer big clues anyways. As always, ANYONE can enter.

The competition will close next THURSDAY this time (christmas eve - rather than christmas) in which I'll be starting a new competition with a great prize so watch out for that one too. Next Thursday, three lucky winners will be randomly selected from a hat.

Good luck!

Here's the presents:

Good luck again.

Kyle

Ok, maybe I was being a bit of a humbug here - so I'll make it easier by giving clues now!

1) Classic slasher remade

2) I want to play a game...

3) One of the most successful British horrors

4) ANOTHER slasher remade here - but this time it's given another dimension!

5) A Michael Bay film that wasn't actually all that crap!
